Had cold symptoms 2 days. Yesterday was dizzy and had headcold, including chesty cough. Felt acid in chest. Now no voice + bad top stomach pain. Fever?

Sounds viral: Cold symptoms followed by loss of voice is almost always viral in nature. The thing that bothers me a bit more is the emphasis you put on "bad pain" in upper abdomen. Any time you have severe pain, it warrants evaluation by a doctor. You could have a viral process such as mono that has caused irritation/enlargement of your liver and/or spleen and that can be quite painful. ...Read more

Symptoms: cold sweat, dizziness, nausea during and after period. Period lasted 7 days was heavy until the last two days and very dark almost brown?

Most likely, normal: Rule out pregnancy, of course. My own take on this is that, particularly with heavy menses, there is notable amount of retrograde menstrual flow (back flow of menstrual effluent) through the fallopian tubes into the abdominal cavity. This could serve to irritate the peritoneal lining (eliciting pain, bloating, etc.) as well as nearby bowel; leading to some of the GI symptoms described. ...Read more

Myriad: Dizziness is one of the most difficult diagnoses to sort out sometimes. Almost anything can cause it: cardiac, psychiatric, endocrine, etc. For this one, I would first guess that you have Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV). I think the period is not related. You may need to confirm this with your Family Doc. Look up Epley's maneuvers. If you're no better, go get checked out! ...Read more

Dizziness: Your medication list shows Timolol which can cause lowering of blood pressures and can cause dizziness. Other common causes include dehydration, viral infection etc. Pregnancy can also be a reason. You can safely use a pregnancy kit or see your doctor to further evaluate. Hydration: You may be partly dehydrated. Drink enough water so that your urine is colorless and do this on a regular basis. It will also help with the dry cough.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Grand other, 87yo. 5'5" 149lbs. Chronic cold symptoms, 10yrs. Runny nose, clogged ears, dizziness, cough, hoarse throat. No allergies. Any ideas?

Chronic sinusitis: The symptoms above are consistent with chronic irritation of the nose and throat. This can be caused by chronic sinus infections which also connect to the ear and cause dizziness. A Cat scan of sinuses can help. A more unlikely but possible cause is reflux disease. (GERD) While not typical, gastric fluid coming up in the throat during sleep can cause the symptoms as well. An ENT surgeon can help. ...Read more
