No: A short course of prednisone should still be tapered, though the danger is little. The night sweats aren't withdrawal. You need proper medical workup including having your heart checked -- it would be a shame to miss endocarditis -- and a search for other causes. ...Read more

Sweating and: Light-headedness are well-known side effects of steroids and should go away a few days after you're off the prednisone. As dr. Namey noted, steroids are usually not the first line of treatment for gout, but there are times when non-steroidal antiinflammatories are either dangerous or can't be used (like in diabetics or patients with kidney disease), in which case Prednisone is used. ...Read more

I'm currently taking prednisone Zoloft (sertraline) and plaquenil and have been waking drenched in sweat should I be concerned? What do I do about it?

Cannot diagnose: Have no idea why you are on these meds or what your medical history is, but you should not be having drenching sweats. See your doctor now and make sure you have not activated latent tuberculosis or have some other serious issue. Hope you get better soon. ...Read more
