Cold Sepsis Symptoms
Is shakiness a symptom of sepsis? I don't have fever however my skin is cold. I'm just worried but can't go to ER
Caution advised: Because body temperature can be above 101 F (38.3 C) or below 96.8 F (36 C) in sepsis it may appear as if the symptoms are coming and going. However, this can be a life threatening condition and emergency medical attention is needed until the condition is resolved completely. ...Read more
Symptoms....: Sepsis usually results in fever, body aches, malaise, headache, etc. Which are very general symptoms. Was sick with viral type illness for 2-3 weeks. Felt a bit better but not completely. Now getting same symptoms all over again. Sepsis?
Not likely/depends,,: This isn't likely to be sepsis, at least not yet, but it depends on when it started and when it came back. If it was a few weeks between that episode and your symptoms now, it is likely to be just another viral illness. If it was right before, it is likely to be a super-imposed bacterial infection that could lead to sepsis. It would be good to see your doctor to get checked out to be sure. ...Read more

I think I have had symptoms of Sepsis for weeks, but all my tests come back fine. And my vital signs are normal. What should I do?
Be grateful: You're not going to develop sepsis out of the blue without having some underlying cause that a second-year med student could pick up. If you've lost your spleen along the way, sepsis can pop up suddenly -- but you'll be obviously sick. And people who have sepsis perish in hours or days. Get a diligent physician to work up whatever symptoms you have. Best wishes. ...Read more
I read some articles on some people who form pneumonia in one night which leads to sepsis and amputation. How to know when a cold is at this step?
How bad are symptoms: Depending on how you feel will help determine whether you need advanced care or not (such as a visit to an emergency room or admission to the hospital). Influenza, or 'the flu' can be very serious. If you feel lightheaded, dizzy, or cannot keep food/liquids down, are getting dehydrated etc - those are things I would look for. Best next time to get the flu vaccine and limit the chances of being ill ...Read more

Can you tell me in sepsis, how much bacteria needs to be in a person's blood before he start showing signs and symptoms?
Depends: We all get bacteria in our blood periodically, like after brushing teeth. Sepsis results when bacterial grow unchecked, produce chemical mediators, and the body may over-react. Cold&mild fever. Took Tylenol, (acetaminophen)4 hours later, I would not stop sweating. BP dropped really low idk ifmachine was false err from panic. Sepsis? BPnorm now.28
Not sepsis: Often times the presence of sweating is the sign of the fever "breaking". BP changes for various reasons but panic will usually cause increase in blood pressure. Data not clear: A study done awhile ago showed that previous history of chorioamnionitis was not a risk factor for subsequent pregnancies, however I have other experts say that it is a risk factor. The bottom line, all you can do is follow doctor's instructions and stay as healthy as possible. Sleep, rest, a good immune system. Exercise, eating a good diet. Just try to take care of yourself as best as possible. ...Read more
