Is it ok to use my Honeywell hepa and Vick’s warm mist humidifier at same time? If it better or worse to use both going at same time?
Whatever: Warm mist humidifiers are frowned upon in general because of safety issues. Safe products using tuning fork technology to create mist are safer. In the rare weeks you have the heat on in south Texas humidifiers or misters can reduce nasal dryness, soar throats and cough. They are rarely helpful otherwise. Hepa filters are fine year round. ...Read more
See below:: Throughout the 19th and most of the 20th century, cool mist administration was the mainstay of treatment for croup. Hospitals had "croup rooms" filled with cool mist. However, despite its continued widespread use, little evidence supports the clinical efficacy of cool mist. Randomized studies of children with moderate-to-severe croup revealed no difference in outcome for treated vs not. ...Read more

See below:: For safety, use cool-mist humidifiers for children. Hot water or steam from a warm-mist humidifier or steam vaporizer can burn a child if he or she gets too close. Warm-mist and cool-mist humidifiers are equally effective in humidifying the air. Also, by the time the water vapor reaches your child's lower airways, it's the same temperature regardless of whether it started out warm or cool. ...Read more
My daughter is 3 and gets a lot of bloody noses. Her dr said to try a humidifier. Which would be the best for her a cool or warm mist?
Cool for a 3 y/o: The mist from both is the same, but the dangers of hot water from a warm mist humidiifer is very real with a 3 year old. I have seen too many burns from warm/hot humidifiers where curious toddlers touch them or get too close and get burned. Also, you have to be very conscientious about cleaning warm ones daily as they are more prone to harbor molds and other germs in the warm mist. Go with cool! ...Read more
Which is better to use when u have brohncatis and asthma when sick a cool mist humidifier or a warm mist vaporizer it's for my daughters 9 and 11?
Reducing post nasal drip with nasal saline rinses and a mild decongestant at bedtime may help alleviate their symptoms. If they have asthma, I would suggest reviewing their asthma plan. Some children will need an inhaled or by mouth steroid during an illness, to control inflammation.

Please skip the camphor and just use a warm mist humidifier. ...Read more
Do I need to buy warm mist humidifier? I got a cool mist Vicks humidifier will it treat post nasal drip, dry cough on winter and fall?
No: Humidifiers are fine for replacing the moisture in your environment that is lost when the heat is on. They don't have to mist to be effective. It is part of the Furnace system in the North, where the heat is on for months but not in Texas. We actually advise against heated mist because the heater is a hazard, and all mist cools before it reaches you. ...Read more

Which kind of humidifier Is better out of cool mist one or warm mist one? I got allergies wife has nose bleeds on dry weather which kind would you buy
Cool: Humidifiers never mist, but rely on a fan pushing air through a wick to saturate the air with water. Misters are vaporizers & do so with steam (cheap unsafe ones) or room temperature tuning fork technology. Misters often wet the room with due like coating. Humidifiers are good to replace moisture lost in a heated house. Targeting a humidity of 35-45% is best for general health. ...Read more

No: It is my understanding that humidifiers add litle to the humidity of a house (most moisture goes into ceiling and rafters) so these are of little to no benefit for dry skin. What works best is "soaking and trapping". That is soak skin and then trap the moisture within 2 minures with moisturizers.. And creams are better than lotions and ointments and oils are better than creams.. ...Read more
