Can pericardial effusion w/o pericarditis cause pain still. MRI and blood work shows no inflammation, but I do have mod-large pericardial effusion?
Need diagnosis: Obviously we need to determine the underlying cause of the effusion. So we would need a thorough history/physical and review any and all testing to date. More info needed : a moderate to large effusion might warrant draining, but if truly of idiopathic origin sometimes it simply re-accumulates. However at your young age, not unreasonable to drain and to search for underlying causes (connective tissue disorders, thyroid issues, etc).
