Taking colace 50mg for constipation with amiteza and synthroid (thyroxine). Legs ache and muscles hurt in lower legs What can I do and why is this?
Amitiza (lubiprostone) & thyroid: Amitiza (lubiprostone) can cause joint pain. How long have you been on this med? When was the last time your thyroid was checked? If real recent, was the blood work normal? Hypothyroidism can cause muscle spasms& joint pain even neuropathy type symptoms in the limbs. What is an easy way to give my child liquid colace (docusate sodium) to help with his constipation?
No easy way: Liquid colace (docusate sodium) is super bitter- it would take a lot of something sweet to make it palable. Ask your physician if you could use MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) instead. It is over the counter, mixes well with juice and doesn't have a bitter after taste. Don't forget to increase fluids and whole fibers in your child's diet. Almost 2 weeks on lithium & i feel good. I prolly could use an lil more but I am constipation! i started colace (docusate sodium). Is that a side effect to lithium :|?
No: Your constipation is coming from your iron supplement. If it is persistent i would also have a thyroid level checked because hypothyroidism can cause constipation. Hypothyroidism is also a potential side effect of lithium but usually after long-term use. About 25% of people who use lithium will eventually develop hypothyroidism. I hope this helps.
