Dmds, oral surgeons, orthos can't figure out why i developed malocclusion, open bite after 10yrs of perfect teeth post-ortho. Help?!
Post cavus surgery-3 mo after surgery arch dropped. Big toe stuck-bones jammed on xray. Surgeon "never be as good as pre surgery & orthotics" Can fix?
Post- operative: healing and rehab takes one full year with any reconstruction. After that point, if patients that are still having pain, return of deformity or non-optimal results I would discuss possible surgical intervention. If you would like a 2nd opinion for a review of post-surgical xrays and possible treatment options currently and/or future treatments, please consult me! ...Read more
Will speech therapy correct lisp?Lisp before & after surgery.I had double jaw surgery for class 3 underbite.Right side of tongue numb after surgery.
Dds: specialist charged $95 consult., 25 for x-ray, 450 for gum flap sugery that failed and 450 for extracted tooth. Put time into flap...But really. ?
Revisit: If i lay a flap in my office its called a "surgical extraction" and its included in the "one" procedure fee. X ray fee is normal. Consult is iffy. ? I personally would charge for xray and extraction. Thats it. Unless he/she flapped and cleaned another area in your mouth. Sorry. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
For hallux rigidus, one surgeon said joint replacement, & one, fusion. I'm still mobile & want the less risky bone spur surgery. What do you advise?
I'm 2 months op brain surgery removed 50% of tumor now i've got to have 22 frictioned radition. Will radition made anesthesia dolorosa worst ?
Possible: This technique supposedly offers the advantage of causing little or no disturbance of facial sensation. Nevertheless, complications such as paresthesias, dysesthesias, and anesthesia dolorosa (pain in an area that is without sensation) have been reported. Rec.: talk to your surgeon for more information and education. Take care. ...Read more

Double jaw surgery for class 2 open bite + maxillary excess: how much benefit is there if my surgeon uses newish 3d CT method to plan surgery? Worth it for me to delay surgery by a month so he can?
3D CT Scan: And accompany software for planning surgical procedures are amazing tools for viewing structures in 3d. Whether or not to use it is up to your surgeon. If he\she feels it will be beneficial, i would definitely wait if necessary, and take advantage of its use. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Healing time for toe amputation? (DM+; 63y/o, F; varicose veins 20+ years; poor circulation before surgery - surgeon did stent procedure -success).
Up to 6 weeks: Since you have diabetes, your healing will be unfortunately somewhat slower especially since the surgery was in your lower extremity. However, please check with your vascular surgeon to confirm how you are doing in terms of recovery, and he/she will keep you informed if you will recover in 6 weeks or need more time. Best of luck! ...Read more
My teeth were perfect for 10yrs (ortho-no retainer). Within the last year i developed an open bite, malocclusion, tongue thrust. Is surgery the answer?
All Depends: The answer to this depends on the severity of the open bite. My sister has had 5 surgeries, the first for Crohn's disease, the last 4 for adhesions. Who does a surgical technique to fix?
SORRY: There's no "fix" to adhesive disease after surgery. Adhesions are a normal development after a surgical procedure, and can cause obstruction of the GI tract. It's uncommon, but not heard of, to have recalcitrant problems. She needs to eat well, keep hydrated, and follow closely with her medical team. Good luck. ...Read more

26, knee oa - meniscus tear/ scope surgery 10 yrs ago - was ncaa athlete. Drs say distal femoral osteotomy. Can i improve my alignment w/ pt instead of surgery? Now low impact lifestyle and no pain
Somewhat: Yes, i would maximize physical therapy and an "unloader" knee brace, customized for your misalignment. This brace provides some realignment to you while weight-bearing. If you fail to see satisfactory results with conservative management, then an osteotomy could be helpful for you. Keep your weight at a healthy level, as this may be the #1 modifiable factor to prevent progression of your arthritis. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Sinusitis: Greetings. It sounds like you could possibly have chronic allergic rhinosinusitis.
