I have been having issues with coffee on and off some days 1 cup makes me feel dizzy, and other days, gives me a headache, and nausea What causes this?

Caffeine: Is a stimulant. The brain and other electrically excitable systems in the body (heart) can be affected by even small amounts. Symptomatic treatment of headaches (Triptans) GI upset (Pepto Bismol) and insomnia (Benadryl) does not replace the treatment of underlying conditions. Caffeine is another symptomatic agent. It can stave off fatigue, treat depression or abort a migraine, but at a cost. ...Read more

I feel a little bad right because earlier I drank some coffee and I had a nausea problem and when I took a Excedrin I vomit. Is this a serious problem or what I could eat of anything and I am very nervous about this

Excedrin: Excedrin and coffee both separately and together can irritate the stomach, especially if you have gastritis and/or underlying ulcer. You
need a visit with your primary care provider for a work up, testing, and possible referral to a GI doctor (gastroenterologist). In the meantime try an over the counter medication like pepcid, tagamet, or prilosec. Also avoid aspirin, advil, (ibuprofen) excedrin, spicy foods, caffeine, acidic foods.

Can caffeine interact with diazepam? Prescribed 5mg diazepam prn for anxiety. Feeling nauseous after 2cups of coffee. Have caffeine sensitivity. Thanks

Diazepam is a: sedative and caffeine is a stimulant. If any thing, they might cancel each other out. However, equal parts uppers and downers don't necessary make you feel good. If you get nauseous after 2 cups of coffee, why not stop at one? Or 1 1/2? Or half decaf, half regular? Or tea (which has a lower concentration of caffeine.)?
Hope this helps. Dr. Anne ...Read more

I had strong black coffee after dinner last night and around midnight I just had to run to puke. Since then I have clear watery yellow diarrhoea and am nauseous.

Bad reflux.: Having strong coffee too close to going to bed, especially caffeinated coffee, can cause reflux, causing really bad heartburn and nausea and vomiting. The extra acidity produced in the stomach can lead to that diarrhea you described. However, depending on what you ate for dinner, this could be food poisoning as well. See how it plays out - if it lasts longer than one day, could be food borne. ...Read more
