What can be the cause of a 2 year old having light brown, liquid stool, with a significant amount of coffee-ground looking specks?
I have had coffee ground stools for several days. Initially thought is was a reaction to Amox I was on. Today had 7 bouts so far?
Ok, would black specs mixed in 2 yo stool be considered coffee ground stool or would that be more obvious? Is this normal? Not sure what to look for.
Specs in Stool: "coffee grounds" usually refers to vomit containing blood. Black specs mixed in with stool most likely food. Bananas in stool- usually have a black spec appearance. Normal stool but when I wipe there is small amount of what looks like coffee grounds mixed in on TP last 3 days since small amount is this normal?
Not normal: Your description of coffee grounds is classic for bleeding which has occurred in the stomach and by the time it has reached the colon and rectum has oxidized and turned dark with coffee ground appearance.
