Are there any benefits to taking creatine and coenzyme q10 together?

Are there any benefits to taking creatine and coenzyme q10 together?

Yes: I'm assuming this is for fitness / bodybuilding. Creatine is excellent for gaining muscle and if you want mass, probably you want to use this. Coenzyme q is less likely to do anything for you as an athlete; it's heavily promoted and has some interesting effects but i'd urge you not to get your expectations up. ...Read more

Is coenzyme q10 + vit k2 worth taking?

Is coenzyme q10 + vit k2 worth taking?

I'm pessimistic: Coenzyme q is extremely effective against one rare cardiomyopathy. But it's being promoted heavily right now to help with almost everything and without any good studies / reproducible results. I'm waiting these but can't recommend it now. The psychology is "what's a hundred dollars if it does work?" you decide but i'm not optimistic. ...Read more

Coenzyme Q: For the most part, everyone over 40 should be taking 100mg of Coenzyme Q. People on Statin drugs should take 200mg, as statin drugs decrease the body's production of Coenzyme Q. Ubiquinol is absorbed better by the body. ...Read more

Does coenzyme Q10 reduce the risk of any cancers? If so, which ones?

Does coenzyme Q10 reduce the risk of any cancers? If so, which ones?

Not to my knowledge: In fact, the whole history of supplements -- even antioxidants and omega 3's -- preventing cancer, prolonging life, or improving it quality is almost without exception, over the past forty years, a history of tremendous disappointment. You won't hear about this if you get all your information from "health" internet sites. If you're interested in this, get with an evidence-based holistic doctor. ...Read more

Is 100mg ubiquinone (normal Coenzyme Q10) equivalent to 100mg ubiquinol ( active form of Coenzyme Q10 )? Thank you

Not as well absorbed: Studies suggest that the blood level of CoQ10 from taking ubiquinol is 1.5 to 8 times greater than taking the same amount of ubiquinone. Thus, one might need to take 150-300 mg of Ubiquinone to get the same benefits of 100 mg of Ubiquinol. See http://www.lef.org/magazine/mag2007/jan2007_report_coq10_01.htm for more info. ...Read more
