Coconut Oil For Burn Scars
I have a burn scar on the back of my thigh from a hot iron. Is there any way I can fade it, with some product? I have tried bio oil, it's not working.
Vit E: Try Vit E creams. Alternatively, you can buy the Vit E capsules. Pierce one with a pin and spread it over the scar. This should help reduce the scar. However, it may not take it all away.See 1 more doctor answer
Can bio oil helps in reducing the burn scar from second degree burn? Any other methods that I could apply/use/intake to reduce my burn scar on thighs.
Waste of money: Any lubricating oil or vaseline will be useful. Bio oil is nothing special.
Are burn scars and cut scars the same? I'm testing bio oil and I'm only doing it on my most recent 3rd degree burn and some self harm scars (keloid)
Save your money: You need professional help. For your injuries. For your self-mutilation. A dermatologist, psychiatrist, psychologist. Meanwhile you can use anything for lubrication of skin. Bio oil is strictly for suckers.
Oil burn: This is a big possibility, but you should visit a dermatologist.
Scar Healing: A scar forms when there is healing of an injury to the tissues. Remember that with almost all wounds, healing continues for months and months as we change the stress on the tissues. A scar forms as a result and may have many different appearances and colors. Any dark coloration may fade over time but the tissues never are the same and so some scarring will always be there.

I have some acne scars on my face and I want a clear skin. Should I apply coconut oil for this on my face...???
Scars: Have your doctor refer you to a skin specialist. There may be good oils to put on your face but listen to the advice of the doctor or skin specialist.
I had 2nd degree burns on my hand the pig skin grafts peeled off. Is coconut oil ok to use on my new skin? How effective is it? I was burned by oil.
Not a fan of oils: Not sure how far out of the burn you are and how far the healing has progressed. So I'll answer as if the graft failed early on. I tend to be a fan of collagen dressings with or without grafts. I have been successful treating second degree burns with nothing except daily cleansing with dilute dakins solution and collagen gel as a primary dressing and then a non stick secondary.
Reduce not rid of: Scarring is a permanent entity and the only way the body can seal itself from the outside. Surgery is helpful in reduction-redirection of the scars, but still leaves a linear one. Use of silicone gel sheeting is often used in burn area to sooth, reduce redness, and soften during the healing time. Some doctor's use steroid injections if the scars are very hypertrophic (large).
