Who knows.: CAlibrate your own scale. Use a 10# bag of sugar or flour. See how close your scale is. It may be correct or not. If it is correct, make sure you are getting weighed int the same manner as at your doctor and at the same time of day. If you ate prior eat now and try to have the same fluid balance as before. I use fitbit: I've been using fitbit daily for over 2 years. During the day it shows my activity patterns, and allows me to use that feedback to modify the behavior. For example if I have not met my step goal by dinner time a postrprandial walk becomes more attractive. At night, the fitbit can provide useful information regarding quality of sleep. LDL goal : Hi. No change in diet will get your LDL to goal. Your LDL is very influenced by your genetics, and minimally influenced by your diet. I would at least make sure you're not hypothyroid. Treatment with a statin is lifelong, and most people aren't that into preventive medicine. Lowering your LDL with a stain would lower your long term risk. Period. EGFR: E is for estimated. There are many ways to estimate gfr. Best validated is the mdrd available at national kidney foundation. http://www.kidney.org/professionals/kdoqi/gfr.cfm. Egfr declines with age and indeed 70 is about normal for age 70. You sound very muscular so you are not normal. 50 is probably your normal.
