Cn The Er Tell You Whas Wrong With Ur Groin
Unwell this year with a strange sensation on the inner upper thighs. Irritation when wearing pants or walking. Thin oval lumps under skin from groin down sensitive to touch. Is this something wrong with the lymphatic system? Doctors can't tell so far
Severe pain starting in back on right side shooting to abdomin & groin. Bad enough to cause nausea. ER found nothing wrong with kidney or appendix.?
Symptoms vs. Reality: Symptoms=interpretations by person who perceives them (within their brain?mind) & only clues as to what is possibly happening. Better diagnoses (just labels, not necessarily accurate/useful for solutions) also require signs (exam, lab findings, etc.) & time in order to offer reasonable guesses to what might be happening. Medicine not magical; physicians=only detectives. ER bad place for good help. ...Read more
Joint or tendon: In a 32-year old if it is not a genitourinary issue it could be musculoskeletal. Deep in the joint it could be a torn labrum. It can also be a tendonitis of the hip flexor or adductor muscles. Physical exam and clinical information would help to decipher the source. In a male an inguinal hernia would need to be ruled out. Sports hernias are also common source of groin pain. ...Read more
I have groin pain when i mainly sit & sometime when I'm standing and comes & goes. What could be wrong?
History?: A history of injury would suggest injury. A history of symptoms that could lead to enlarged lymph nodes would suggest that. Also, a physical exam could help differentiate. ...Read more
Intermittent groin pain for 17 months. Ultrascan in feb to rule out tc, showed nothing. Still aches from time to time. Could scan be wrong?
Unlikely: If the ultrasound was negative, there is unlikely to be testicular cancer present. Other things that might cause groin pain include hernias, varicocele (which can also be identified on sono), intermittent testicular torsion, and infections of the scrotal contents. If the problem is persistent, a ct of the abdomen may be suggested to rule out abdominal pathology. ...Read more
Bulge: Both groin hernias and muscle strains can cause groin pain (although the strain usually hurts more) and may be difficult to distinguish. However, groin strains will not cause a bulge in the groin, whereas hernias do. The bulge tends to protrude with exertion and recede when laying down. If in doubt, I recommend that you see a general surgeon. ...Read more
By location: The pubis is easy to palpate, and would be point specific. A groin pull would be palpable in the medial muscle mass, even if close to a muscle attachment it will be away from the pubis. ...Read more
Hard to say without: Knowing more specifics as in how severe the "pull" was. But in general even for mild strains, resting for 2 weeks isn't unreasonable with a graded(slow increase) reintroduction into exercise after that. Listen to your body, if you're not a professional athlete, "no pain, no gain" really doesn't apply to you. If it hurts, decrease the intensity or just avoid it all together and retry later. ...Read more
If something's wrong with your kidneys what are some signs you would have? And would it make your groin area painful?
Not usually : There may be many signs/symptoms associated with kidney disease depending on specific problem but groin pain would not generally be one of them. Kidney stones (flank pain), kidney infection (pain and fever), kidney disease affecting function (swelling, fatigue, nausea, metallic taste, rash). Blood in urine, high bp, changes in urination may be other signs. Urinalysis, blood test, imaging helpful. ...Read more

When I hold my ejaculation I get this pain on my groin area which makes it hard to ejaculate and can even last for days, what could be wrong with me?
How do I tell someone I have PGAD I'm too scared and embarrassed. I might get exploratory groin surgery but the doctors don't know I have this I'm 21
PGAD: I understand that this is embarrassing but it is really important to advise your doctor of this or any other conditions you have that involve your genitalia — before you have surgery. Recommend that you make your health the priority — which means getting up the courage to talk about this candidly to your medical team. Take care. ...Read more
Osteitis pubis: Osteitis pubis is a central ache directly over the junction of the pubic bones. It can be very difficult to distinguish this from a groin pull as the groin muscles attach on the pubic bone. Stress fractures can also mimic osteitis pubis. These are seen more commonly in runners. Diagnostic injection into the region may help. Mri is also very sensitive in helping determine the source of pain. ...Read more
Doctor can evaluate: Losing 30 pounds in only 4 months is quite a significant weight loss that should be evaluated as soon as possible by a physician. It could mean an infection, cancer, or another serious condition. The weight loss may or may not be related to the symptoms in your groin area. ...Read more
Monitoring Centers: Lymphatic system absorbs/carries things too big to go into the arteries/veins like bacteria eaten by white cells and digested food. Lymph nodes "taste" the lymph for anything bad like bacteria/viruses/cancers, etc. When it detects a problem, it alerts the immune system and your body reacts. They enlarge in response to the inflammation they create when they react. They shrink when all is well. ...Read more
Proctalgia Fugax: Pain associated with that area that can involve the perineum in a male that has no real association with swelling or bowel movement may be proctalgia or levator syndrome which is spasm of the pelvic floor. It can take a variety of appearances and the essence of diagnosis is one of exclusion. A simple exam can rule out infection or other primary rectal findings. ...Read more
I have a pain in my groin area and it iscaused by a wrong position while making squats in the gym. Should I stop for a while? Could it be a hernia?
Having dull ache in my groin area near waistline/where I would wear my belt. It feels kind of deep, but can't tell because i also have an ache in my lower back area which I believe to be unrelated.
See Provider: Persistent pain in this area needs evaluation. Persistent pain with fever needs to be evaluated now. Hernias can cause pain in this area, as well as kidney stones that can result in blockage and pain in both areas. Depending on the side, the appendix can cause pain in this area. Best to seek out medical evaluation. ...Read more

What could be wrong if my left hip pain for close to three years now. Pain feels deep in socket with groin pain as well?
Would seek help.: Had and medical evaluation yet? Hip pain could be from the hip joint itself or from the low back. I would thus seek help from a specialist in this regard on the assumption that you have sought help from your pcp, had imaging studies and perhaps pt as well. 3 years is long enough time and specialized consultation is warranted at this time if this has not occurred already. Be well. ...Read more
