I have yeast infection. I have taken Diflucan (fluconazole). have a cream called Clotrimazole and Betamethasone Dipropionate...Will this work?? And how fast??

The cream you're: Using will ease your symptoms fairly quickly (~24 hours) but getting rid of the infection will take longer (up to 7 days). If you're still having discharge or itching 1 week after taking the Diflucan, (fluconazole) you may need a second treatment or a different treatment. Recurrence, resistance and re-infection are very common with yeast vaginitis. - ( ...Read more

Was prescribed lotrisone (clotrimazole and betamethasone) for a stubborn yeast infection under my breasts, its working great but how long is safe to continue use?

Was prescribed lotrisone (clotrimazole and betamethasone) for a stubborn yeast infection under my breasts, its working great but how long is safe to continue use?

Lotrisone (clotrimazole and betamethasone): Lotrisone (clotrimazole and betamethasone) combines a very weak antifungal/antiyeast med with a very strong cortisone, so not certain what this med treats. When applied to body folds for even a few weeks, Lotrisone (clotrimazole and betamethasone) can cause thinning of skin, stretchmarks, dilated blood vessels, etc. For yeast infections under breasts, there are better antifungal (without cortisones) medications that would help. Please do not use this one. ...Read more

Can I take Fluconazole and Clotrimazole cream together for a yeast infection?

Yes: The cream is safe, can be used forever. Miconazole cream and ketoconazole are equivalent. Fluconazole pill is more effective, generally used once, perhaps repeat in a week. It is important to identify the reason for the yeast problem and deal with it. Exposed to antibiotic? Diabetes? Hormones or pregnancy? MEDS? Illness? ...Read more

I have been diagnosed with a male yeast infection (non-STD) took fluconazole (125mg) 2 doses, 1 wk apart. Used clotrimazole cream for 6wks. Nothing wor?

Find a better Dr: What in the world is a "male yeast infection"? Do not accept this "diagnosis". After the real diagnosis is defined the best treatment can be delivered. A dermatologist??? You neglected to describe the location, appearance, duration, or symptoms. ...Read more

There: There is no contraindication to using Clotrimazole vaginal cream ring while NuvaRing is in place. If you don't feel comfortable, you can try Fluconazole alone and monitor for resolution of your symptoms, and if the symptoms are still present then you can try the Clotrimazole cream.

Male yeast infection help! I'm a male and I've had a yeast infection for two years. Nothing seems to get rid of it. I've taken frequent trips to the doctor and he keeps prescribing chlotrimazole cream which is not working. I've tried coconut oil

Recurrent: Recurrent yeast infections can be a sign of diabetes or immune deficiencies. You should have a complete history and physical to make sure this is not the issue. On the other hand, is it possible that a sexual partner could have an untreated yeast infection which is causing the reoccurence. Your doctor may need to put you on an oral medication called Diflucan (fluconazole) once a week for about 4 weeks or so. Lastly consider it is not a yeast infection and possibly an allergic reaction to some type of soap, lotion, or cream you are using on your penis.
Best of luck. ...Read more
