What is clotrimazole and betamethasone cream used for?

What is clotrimazole and betamethasone cream used for?

Way too many things: This is a sore point among dermatologists. Clotrimazole is an antifungal, Betamethasone is an anti-inflammatory; so the combination cream is used by many docs who are too lazy to figure out whether a rash is an eczema or a ringworm. Unfortunately, it doesn't work very well on either one, for most people. ...Read more

Without : Without being able to examine you, it's difficult to say what could be causing your rash. Fungal infections can be tricky and can take weeks to go away. That being said, if it has been weeks and you see no improvement with your current treatment (which should be effective for most skin fungal infections) you should call your doctor. They may want to take another look at it, possibly take a culture and depending on what they see, either keep you on the same treatment or change to a different medication. If your doctor is unable to figure out what it is, they may recommend a dermatologist (skin specialist) who may be able to help. ...Read more

Ok: Maybe it is a cyst or abscess like lesion that needs to be treated with antibiotics or other therapeutic means. Dermatology or a gyn should be able to re-assess the area and try other options, depending on their examination findings. Best wishes. ...Read more

Can I use "clotrimazole and betamethasone disproportionate cream , use 1% 10.05% base" on the herpes around the anus? It seems to help me w/ the pain

Can I use "clotrimazole and betamethasone disproportionate cream , use 1% 10.05% base" on the herpes around the anus? It seems to help me w/ the pain

Highly not advised!: If what you have is not herpes, then you are ok.However, if you think it's herpes, watch out!the topical you are using has an antifungal agent and a steroid that suppresses the immune system. You have a viral infection. As a result, your lesions, despite it feeling better in the short run, will soon get worse. See you doctor in order to get a prescription for an antiviral agent like valacyclovir. ...Read more

Hard : Hard to tell without a clinical examination but it sounds like you might have eczema, hand dermatitis, or possibly psoriasis. I would start with only using a very gentle hydrating cleanser such as cerave hydrating cleanser and then applying cerave cream a few times per day. If that doesn't help, visit a dermatologist who can talk about prescription options/possible allergy testing. Read more about skin allergy at the link below. I hope that helps. ...Read more
