Does klonopin (clonazepam) medication for anxiety cause lower hemoglobin and hemacrit levels thankyou?
For the most part no: Drug induced anemia - low red blood cell counts - from klonopin (clonazepam) is exceptionally rare, basically case reportable(meaning it's so rare that cases of this are published for doctors to better understand). While there are reported incidents, in general, anemia isn't felt to be a common side effect at all. ...Read more

Individual variation: Lorazepam is shorter acting than clonazepam. Some people feel better with a shorter agent and taking it more frequently during the day while others prefer a longer acting agent and taking it less frequent. However it does not always follow what seems to be simple pharmacokinetics. I.E. Some people need to take Klonopin just as frequent as lorazepam. Does panic attacks can give headaches?, I'm taking medication clonazepam and propalonol and i feel like a pressure in my head and scalp I also suffer from migraines but i notice that after I started taking anxiety medications I'm feeling dizzy too.
Likely the medicatio: Anxiety meds are common culprits when it comes to dizziness. Clonazepam is probably one of the leaders when it comes to this side effect. Propranolol can lower your blood pressure ever so slightly which can make you feel weaker and certainly can cause headaches. However, headaches usually resolve after 4 weeks approximately. Any other symptoms with the headaches? ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
What is an alternative medication Klonopin, (clonazepam) could Valium be substituted, contraindications with Fetzima?
Alternative: If another medication in this class (benzodiazepines) is being sought, it may depend on the reason why you need to come off Klonopin (clonazepam). Valium has many break down products & is not always a great addition if medical problems. Ativan/lorazepam unlikely to have negative impact on the liver (unlike some of the others) but is relatively short acting. Please additional information on reason. Thanks! ...Read more
Is taking 90 mg of klonopin (clonazepam) at once dangerous? And if so, what would be the way to properly dispose of the medication?
What medications do u recommend for clonazepam withdrawal?..Im taking 1mg per day, recently down to .75 mg ..Thx
A ways to go, yet: You have a slow and gradual way to go. Your physician, who knows you and your condition best, is the best one to develop a taper schedule with you. Compounding pharmacies may be needed to prepare certain dosing increments. Klonopin (clonazepam) is quite potent, and even small reductions can result in symptoms. Hopefully your basic anxiety is under good control with non-pharmaceutical methods. Good luck! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Prescribed clonazepam 0.5mg for sleep, only took 1. Can i just stop taking since it was just once without problems? Want to sleep without medication.
I've been taking .5 mg of Klonopin (clonazepam) for 7 or 8 years for anxiety, I'm now down to 1/2 a pill at bed time. I want off the medication completely. How?
I have been on 1mg klonopin (clonazepam) for years. Cannot take generic!!! Klonopin (clonazepam) now back ordered all mg till fall. What medication would you suggest closest?
Klonopin (clonazepam) generics: If you've only tried one generic version on Klonopin (clonazepam) see if another would work as well as the branded drug worked. If that doesn't work, you should ask the doctor who prescribed Klonopin (clonazepam) what they would like you to try in it's place since as a benzodiazapene drug there are many other in that class that might help you. Most importantly, don't panic! ...Read more

Thanks dr mahnensmith for fast response did not mention that i starter on klonopin (clonazepam) .5 daily read that medication also can rise GGT levels is this true?
Klonopin (clonazepam) & liver: Klonopin (clonazepam) can elevate liver enzymes. The incidence is low. It is more likely to elevate ALT and AST than GGT but it can elevate GGT alone. So, the presence of klonopin (clonazepam) is a second variable to consider. If you can, and with discussion with your doc, try to wean slowly to off and then see if GGT comes down. Wean is important if you decide to try. ...Read more

Which is a better medication for ANXIETY DISORDER? Metoprolol or Clonazepam? Please answer. Thank you.
Apples & Oranges: Metoprolol is a beta blocker which will slow your heart rate and calm you down in an anxiety provoking situation. Clonazepam is a anti-anxiety medication but has some issues with habituation. It would be a "stronger" anti anxiety medicine, taken for limited periods of time generally. Metoprolol would be a safer choice but may not be "strong enough", depending on your anxiety. ...Read more
Taking Luvox, (fluvoxamine) Risperdol, and Klonopin and have no energy. Which medication can be causing this?
Any of them: or the combination could be causing this -- as well as the condition that you might be taking them for. Luvox, (fluvoxamine) Rispderal, and Klonopin can do this, or, can interact to do this, but for them to do so would suggest that either time of day or dosage may be a factor. There are many conditions that they are prescribed to treat that have no energy as a symptom. Consult your psychiatrist. ...Read more

Had a seizure a week ago due to problems with a medication (klonopin). Now having daily headaches. Will this go away?
Slow taper: It is unclear from your question what dose of Klonopin (clonazepam) you were taking and how fast you discontinued the medicine. Done too quickly, it can result in seizures. Hopefully, you are followed by an MD to do this correctly. Most likely the headaches will disappear with time if they were not preexistent to the Klonopin (clonazepam). ...Read more
I am taking klonopin (clonazepam) twice daily for anxiety. Will eating maca root powder as a supplement conflict with my medication?
Nobody really knows: There are thousands of supplements advertised to do all sorts of magical remedies. Very few supplements have real research studies to show benefits (but manufacturers make claims, based on theories, animal tests, testimonials, chemical similarities, etc... but not oon real research because real research is hard to do and is expensive to do). Also, how does one know what really is in a supplement? ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Bad anxiety (which i get pretty much every day) I am on prescription 2mg ativan can I take another medication like klonopin (clonazepam)?
Only 1 benzo : I wouldn't recommend taking more than 1 benzodiazepine at one time, unless your doctor is cross tapering off one and onto another. With 2 of these drugs, you risk more side effects like drowsiness, dizziness, and even amnesia. There are other medications which can help anxiety without causing tolerance like benzodiazepines do. Please discuss with your physician. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I've been on klonopin (clonazepam) for panic attacks for a while just curious what medication do they give to wing you off or when they change my medication?
"Wing"? or "wean"?: Weaning off Klonopin (clonazepam) can be done via gradually smaller doses of klonopin (clonazepam). For panic disorder, Klonopin (clonazepam) is not usually used by itself -- there are more reliable & less habit-forming treatments. Ssri antidepressants can effectively prevent panic attacks, while you're also in psychotherapy learning about your triggers & how to deal with them. If you haven't yet seen a psychiatrist, please do. ...Read more
Have tried numerous medications at least 15 and nothing works like klonopin (clonazepam) why does itwork so good for my panic anxiety and phobia is it what i need?
Maybe: Although there is research to suggest that chronic benzodiazepine treatment leads to poor outcomes in most situations there are sometimes exceptions to the rule. There may be more medication approaches that have been implemented that would free your reliance on this medication although every situation is unique. I would talk to your prescribing physician about your medications. Stay safe! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
My doctor just completely abruptly stop all my medication klonopin inderal (propranolol) and reemron what do I do ?
See a new doctor: Abruptly stopping all of your medication is not only going to be unhelpful, but sounds retaliatory. Did he explain to you why he did not give you something to replace it? Stopping Inderal (propranolol) suddenly can lead to rebound hypertension. Stopping clonopin can do the same and also lead to seizures and delirium not to extreme rebound anxiety. It is absolutely contraindicated. Stopping Remeron will make it very difficultfor you to sleep and if you were relying on it as an antidepressant can bring your mood crashing down. If you have a family practitioner i would recommend contact the family practitioner as soon as possible and ask to be slowly tapered off these medications and thatthe family practitioner take over your care until you can find a psychiatrist who will not do something like this to you.If things get really bad please don't hesitate to go to the emergency room or to the hospital. If it were me however i would not go back to see that psychiatrist again. ...Read more

I understand that you aren't supposed to take grapefruit juice with medication but what about grapefruit seed? It's in one of my UTI medications and i wanted to know if i can take klonopin (clonazepam) with that..
I was diagnosed with -2 progestirone, could that be why i'm alwasy soooo tierd? It is very hard to function like a normal person. I am on medication for depression and anxiety. Paxil (paroxetine) every day and klonopin when needed.
Maybe: It sounds like there are a lot of converging factors in your situation and I am not ruling out endocrinological contribution to your symptoms although i would point out that the side effect profile of paroxetine is important to acknowledge in your situation. On paroxetine alone patients can feel lethargic. And then add Clonazepam and the side effects could be amplified. Talk to your doctor! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Not the best idea: Clonazapam can be habit forming and addictive. It's in a class of medications called sedative-hypnotics or downers. Stimulant medications can be considered uppers.
