Clonazepam Lethal Dose
Varies by disease: It’s a slight distinction, but there is not a *max* dose, as people tolerate the dose they’re on and may eventually need to take higher doses to produce the same effect. There are *recommended* upper limits. For those recommended doses: 20 mg per day for seizure disorders and 4 mg per day for panic disorder. ...Read more

What did the doc say: If the doctor said take as needed then, you should ask them what THEY MEANT with that instruction. I would say that if you are new to the drug then, I would recommend you not take it any more than once daily for the time being until you've checked with your doctor. More than that may cause you to be dysfunctional since I don't know anything else about you except you've got a BRAIN LESION. ...Read more

30 to 45 Minutes: Clonazepam (brand klonopin) is considered an intermediate acting benzodiazepine. At normally prescribed doses in a healthy adult one would expect to feel its effects in 30 to 45 minutes. Other variables such as age, general health, use of other medications or alcohol may change this. This medication is available by prescription only and should used under the supervision of a licensed md only. ...Read more
I am on 200 mg of lamotriginel and I just took another dose by accident- meant to take a clonazepam. Is this harmful?
Would notify your Dr: We use Lamictal for several conditions, and even though you will read that the 'maximal' dose is 200 mg/day, we have several patients that are actually on a higher dose than this--every day. So, you should be okay, but I would still recommend that you notify your doctor. Best of luck. ...Read more
After being on a small dose of. 5 mil klonopin (clonazepam) for 3 years how long would it take to withdraw from it completely?
A week or two: 0.5 mg is a pretty low dose, so it shouldn't be hard to stop. I would suggest taking 0.25 daily for a week or so, and then stop completely. While some patients have to taper it more gradually than that, in my experience this has worked fine for most patients. Of course, you should do this in collaboration with your prescribing doctor. ...Read more
I took my last. 125 dose of clonazepam on monday night. How long before its out of my system? Having some really bad withdraw.
1/2 life is 3 days: The dose that you write for Clonazepam is unclear. A typical starting dose is 0.5mg (4 times the dose you write). The higher the dose and the longer that you have been on it, the more difficult the withdrawal. It is advisable that you decrease the dose in small increments instead of stopping it suddenly. If you were truly only on 0.125mg your withdrawal symptoms should me minimal. ...Read more

I've been on 1mg clonazepam for 2 months daily. I feel more anxious the past week or so? I don't want to increase dose. But it's not as effective? Why?
Is it ok to take different doses of klonopin (clonazepam) everyday? Some days I take a half of 0.5 some days a whole. Prescribed as 3 times day as needed.
Prn Klonopin (clonazepam): Taking Klonopin (clonazepam) 3x/day as needed can get confusing. While it may be ok, you may be getting less than effective coverage. Assume you take for anxiety. Suggest you review with prescribing doctor and consider a regular dose that will cover you through the day, eg. 1 mg morning and evening. You may be having mini withdrawals by "stop and start" dosing now. Let your doctor advise. Hope this helps. ...Read more
How big a dose & how often would you need to take Clonazepam before you developed tolerance for it & it was no longer was effective w/o increased dose?
It varies: From person to person. Tolerance may occur with any dosage and Clonazepam is very addictive and taking increasing dosages is not recommended. Depending on the medical problem being treated there are other options for treatment. Beware that stopping Clonazepam may lead to dangerous withdrawal and will need to be tapered slowly while another med is started. ...Read more
1mg dose of klonopin (clonazepam) lasts for about 8 hours. Half life 18-60 hours. The half life seems meaningless if it only therapeutically works 8 hrs. Explain?
Therapeutic: Of course these are just standards for a general population. But, therapeutic levels represents a blood concentration that is high enough to see the effect of the medication still working. Blood levels of the chemical/drug/medicine are detectable but not at a level to provide with the well known effect of the medication. ...Read more
Could of taken klonopin (clonazepam) for 2 years at a high doses damaged my memory for good. I have been off four 4 months, I forget things like where I'm going?
I've been on klonopin (clonazepam) 1.5 mg daily for two weeks. Am I able to stop or are there chances I could have serious problems? What dose is good to stop at?
Taper Klonopin (clonazepam): You may or may not have habituation at this dose and 2 weeks' time, but tapering is still the wisest path. To accomplish this, please work with with the doctor who prescribed your medicine. Since you've only taken Klonopin (clonazepam) for 2 weeks, it should be generally possible to reduce the dose by. 5mg over 5-7 days with each step. ...Read more
Yes: The average starting dose of Clonazepam is 0.5 mg three times a day, and you are on four times that amount. That may be an appropriate dose if there is severe anxiety. However, both antidepressants (ssri/snris) and psychotherapy are better treatments for anxiety in the longer term. Many people do well with clonazepam, even in that dose. If it is to be stopped or reduced, it has to be done slowly. ...Read more

What is the normal dose for clonazepam to battle anxiety. I was put on 1mg daily. Is that high?? Too much??
1mg/day may be ok: Clonazepam is a long acting benzodiazxepine in the same family as alprazolam (xanax); however it is much longer acting with a half life of up to 30-36 hrs. Many patients do fine on 1mg/day but other need up to 3-4mg per day, depending upon the severity and pattern of their anxiety and their individual metabolism, as some folks are rapid and some are slow metabolizers for clonazepam. ...Read more
Dr. What is the lowest prescribed dose of Clonazepam? 0.25 mg? Is that also the dose to begin final taper generally?
0.5mg is lowest: Nice thing about clonazepam is with its long 1/2 life, detox is pretty easy. In a community setting, I'd probably cut the dose by 1 mg each step targeting your comfort and desired end date more than anything else. Say you're on 2 mg three times daily, we could decrease 1 mg daily and have you off the med in 7-10 days. ...Read more
