No big difference: Studies show pregnancy rates are identical starting cc on cd 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5. The main difference is starting later its less likely to have a persistent cyst from the past cycle. For patients not monitored by ultrasound cd 5 may be a better choice, with monitoring it makes little-to- no difference. ...Read more

My wife is getting cramps on her sides. She is currently taking clomid (clomiphene). Is this a normal symptom of clomid (clomiphene)?

Yes: Clomid (clomiphene) stimulates the ovaries to make ovarian follicles, sometimes more than one per month. Most often, the cramping correlates to the side that is developing the follicle and if bilateral, may indicate that follicles are forming on both ovaries. ...Read more

Took Clomid (clomiphene) 100mg cd3-7,trigger shot cd 11. 7 mature follicles. IUI cd12 30hrs post trigger & cd 13 49hrs post trigger. What would adding FSH cd9 do?

CC/IUI: Some stimulation protocols combine CC with small doses of hMG/FSH added later. These protocols are a little bit arbitrary, meaning they reflect "recipes" that an individual doctor has found helpful, not a general practice. You'd need to ask your own doctor why he/she wants the FSH on CD9. ...Read more

Clomid (clomiphene) challenge I have recently been diagnosed with dimished ovarian reserve, my FSH levels are around 15.

Since we already know about my ovarian reserve, what benefit if any, is a Clomid (clomiphene) challenge?

The : The Clomid (clomiphene) challenge test is one way to test ovarian reserve (egg supply, fertility potential). It is best used in patients that have had normal ovarian reserve testing to date and are planning future fertility treatment. An abnormal Clomid (clomiphene) challenge test result can predict poor response to fertility treatment. In your particular case, with a high fsh you may already be showing signs of diminished ovarian reserve, so I do not think it will give you further information. Certainly - I do not have all of the information in your case and i recommend reviewing with a reproductive endocrinolist that can review your entire case. I hope this helps! ...Read more

Clomid (clomiphene) is an estro receptor.Brain needs estrogen surge to release lh.Which means ppl on Clomid (clomiphene) don't have LH surge? How egg burst out?

Got confused?: You are getting yourself confused. Clomid (clomiphene) is not an 'estro receptor' at all; it is mainly an estrogen receptor antagonist, but it has pro-estrogenic actions in some tissues and anti-estrogenic actions in others. Women on Clomiphene do mostly have an lh surge; not surging means the Clomiphene dose was likely too low. ...Read more
