Can you get lice (body lice, head lice, pubic lice) by trying on clothes, hats.... or by using a public toilet room?
Germophobia: This is the same question as your others, this time about lice. Like warts, only come from intimate contact with another person, not clothing or contamined environment. Abnormal fear of contagion (germophobia) can be an early sign of serious mental health disability (see "The Aviator", the biopic of Howard Hughes, for a good example). You might benefit from professional counseling about this. ...Read more

How long does salmonella live on a roll of foil? Baked chicken last week, touched foil, using same roll of foil today to bake cinnamon rolls.
Salmonella: These germs can survive for weeks on surfaces if you read the text books. From what you describe however, there was no evidence that the raw chicken had Salmonella to begin with, and the nature of the contact seems sketchy as well. The good news is that ordinary stomach acid kills most 'exposures' to Salmonella (as does cooking!). If you have further concerns, talk to a doc about it. ...Read more
From canada my bf used 2 kleenez not bare hands to pick up dead baby bird and dispose.Than carried in groceries without washing hands. Contamination?
Germs are everywher: Germs are everywhere, I would not expect that the two of you were going to eat off of those grocery bags. With food preparation and refrigeration your bacterial burden is usually reduced significantly. I wouldn't be any more concerned about this ,that if you went outside and played in the yard and came in and ate dinner without washing your hands. The normal human body has a great immune system. ...Read more
Wife feeds stray cat in our woodsy CT yard. cat's friendly non-aggressive. no tags or collar. Cat licked my leg, should I b worried for rabies?
Not to worry.: Since the rabies virus affects the nervous system, rabid animals generally display abnormal behavior. The virus can be transmitted via contact with the affected animal's saliva, usually through a bite. Theoretically, saliva from a rabid animal could infect a human if the saliva entered an open wound. In this instance, the animal was unlikely to be rabid and no mention was made of an open wound. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Worried about tetanus. Small wound from metal bar in outdoor shower on farm between toes. Shots out of date. Cleaned/bandaged wound with gentamicin.
Give me a boost.: The general rule is to have a booster if it has been more than 10 years since last shot. If the wound is deep and contaminated and it has been more than 5 years since your last shot, you will need a booster. Your wound care sounds adequate, but there is no way of telling if it is adequate enough. To remove all doubt, get a booster. ...Read more
