I have been developing painful cysts every time i ovulate. One found on an ultrasound was clementine-sized. Why would i be getting them every month?
I have an 8 cm fibroid (transmural/submucosa). How likely is it to spontaneously resolve or to have parts of it come out in clementine sized clots?
Fibroid & clots: A sub mucosal fibroid sits under the lining of the uterus(endometrium) and can cause voluminous bleeding and clots. The bleeding is hemorrhagic in nature and can cause rapid anemia as "flood City" becomes the new "normal" period.(abnormal) I hope your MD is following your situation closely as at age 25, hysterectomy is an unwanted outcome, but very common if hysteroscopy( fibroid removal) fails. ...Read more
A cyst the size of a clementine orange found on the ovaries to big ? & Doctors say it will go away on its own even with a history of cancer in family.
Ovarian cyst: Did you have an ultrasound and did that ultrasound indicate it was a simple cyst? If it was a simple cyst then indeed it will probably resolve on its own. If the cyst was complex in any way, septated, containing material, irregular is shape or contour, then it should be evaluated, especially with your family history, by an oncologist and removed. ...Read more
I know that rubbing orange peels on a acne scar can help it fade but I don't have oranges will clementines work?
Not a scar treatment: As a dermatologist I have never come across this in my training. By the way we can only improve scars depending on type and severity - never able to treat 100%. Good luck. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Bacteria cause boils: Boils are caused by bacteria that usually enter the skin through a hair follicle or defect in the skin and then cause inflammation or cellulitis and eventually form a large central pustule. Usually this is a staphylococcal bacteria and spread by hand contact from infected person. Excess citrus may aggravate eczema in some people, and scratching could lead to infection. Otherwise no connection ...Read more

I have ET for 8 years. since I was 22. My Plt count was over 1M most of the time. In the last two months my Plt count is 500K how can it be?
By ET, I presume: you mean essential thrombocythemia, an uncommon disorder in which your body produces too many platelets. It likely results from a gene mutation. If your platelet count is usually around 1M, I would first suspect a lab error. Repeat it now. Discuss with your hematologist. ET would not be expected to spontaneously improve; some complicating or interfering condition might be occurring. Good wishes:) ...Read more
