Variable: Ovulation tests must be done daily at the sam time and with making sure that you have the same urine concentration. A more concentrated urine will give you false positive ovulation test. so, please repeat it again daily till Day 16 or till it is consistently positive. In a 28 to 30 day cycle, you are most likely to ovulate Day 14 to 16. Please start testing only from Day 12 of your cycle next time ...Read more

I had 10 positive clearblue digital ovulation test in a row. Whats going on? Could the ovulation test detect early pregnancy?.

I had 10 positive clearblue digital ovulation test in a row. Whats going on? Could the ovulation test detect early pregnancy?.

OPK: The accuracy of OPK varies - a 10 day LH surge is not physiological so it's either a bad test or you have a very unusual ovulation. I recommend once you get a positive there is no good reason to continue testing further, hope this helps. The test is very unlikely detecting pregnancy at this time, sorry. ...Read more

My clearblue digital ovulation test says pcos may affect the results. How? And does that mean it may cause false positives/negatives?

My clearblue digital ovulation test says pcos may affect the results. How? And does that mean it may cause false positives/negatives?

False positive: In pcos, the hormone lh may be elevated. This is the same hormone detected by the ovulation kit giving the false positive result. Since ovulation is not regular in pcos, it is difficult to detect the lh ovulation surge. ...Read more

I got my first peak digital test on the 31st of March , tested again yesterday it still came up as peak , when should I expect to "actually" ovulate ?

Stop after 1st: After your ovulation test is positive then you stop testing as the hormone it is detecting stays positive. Ovulation is usually 12-24 hours after but one can not predict exactly in any one individual during any one cycle ...Read more

How reliable/accurate are OTC digital ovulation tests and monitors such as the clearblue fertility monitor?

How reliable/accurate are OTC digital ovulation tests and monitors such as the clearblue fertility monitor?

OPK: They reliably detect urine lh, but less good for predicting ovulation. Since lh is nature's trigger for ovulation once a follicle is mature, we assume ovulation follows in the next days. This is true in textbook cycles, but is variable in real life. Ironically, they work best with clockwork cycles, and less well for women who are less predictable. ...Read more

Will a digital ovulation test show positive if you are pregnant? If so, how is this even possible? How would it pick it up? I've heard this many times

Will a digital ovulation test show positive if you are pregnant? If so, how is this even possible? How would it pick it up? I've heard this many times

Possibly: An ovulation test detects lh in the urine. Lh and HCG (pregnancy hormone) are very similar chemically, so a test for one will often detect the other. The ovulation predictor may not be as sensitive as a regular pregnancy test. ...Read more

I : I agree with the rep that the 1st day that you detected a surge most likely represents your true lh surge. The cramps that you described are often experienced by women that ovulate but their timing is less specifically related to the exact time of ovulation. Implantation is usually not associated with discomfort. Cramping pain lasting more than 2 days is less likely to be related to ovulation but may be common when ovulation inducing drugs are used or patients have other underlying condition such as endometriosis. Keep in mind that there is only about a 20% chance of conception each cycle under optimal conditions. If you have proven past fertility and continue to ovulate you should have an excellent chance of conception within a few cycles. If you are not pregnant within 3 or 4 months or over 35, other testing should be considered. ...Read more

I had my right ovary removed 7 days ago due to a 14 CM endometrioma. I should be ovulating now but digital tests say i'm not. Is this normal?

I had my right ovary removed 7 days ago due to a 14 CM endometrioma. I should be ovulating now but digital tests say i'm not. Is this normal?

Maybe due to surgery: If your biggest follicle (the fluid-filled structure that contains an egg) was on your right ovary and was removed with the surgery you may still ovulate on the left side this month, but it may be delayed. You might not ovulate until a new follicle develops on the left side. If you're trying to conceive with one ovary and endometriosis see a reproductive endocrinology (rei) specialist for help. ...Read more
