How to move sputum from bottom of lungs if patient can't cough? Broncholoscopy lavage not worked.Suction & neb not working. Any suggestions appreciate

More information : Human cough is the most powerful tool for maintaining adequate pulmonary hygiene. Everything else is inferior. However feeble cough due to severe neuromuscular disorders ( myopathhies, lou gehrig's disease) may need adjunct therapies such as vest( vibrating and percussion from a wrap around the chest to keep the mucus moving ). Once again only useful in the above conditions not in normal humans. ...Read more

Will tea tree oil stop the bad breath coming from my sinuses? Used in a nasal rinse bottle to clean out my nasal passages.

Will tea tree oil stop the bad breath coming from my sinuses? Used in a nasal rinse bottle to clean out my nasal passages.

Probably not.: Although multiple poorly designed studies have suggested an antibacterial effect for tea tree oil, there have been no large randomized studies of its use, especially in the nasal passages. And although most people do not have reactions, there have been reports of deaths due to TTO ingestion in rats and reports of oral poisoning in children and adults. Be careful of what you read on the Internet. ...Read more

What if I use a electronic cigarette without the liquid containing irritants, is it a good idea for steam inhalation to decongest nose and lungs ?

What is it you are: Going to volatilize if you are not using the liquid provided for the e-cigarette? There are versions that essentially give you water vapor. The problem is that nobody has studied the effects of the propylene glycol that is used as a propellant, or whatever preservatives, additives, flavorings etc. That are in these. If you are not using a cartridge, am not sure you can even activate the device. ...Read more

I have severe allergic rhinitis. Will buying air purifiers & vacuum cleaners with hepa filters help me? Providing that we don't have carpets.

Insufficient help: You should see your doctor. Severe allergic rhinitis doesn't tend to be treated sufficiently with an antihistamine and saline and environmental controls (filters, no carpets), though they help. Allergy shots are the only method to "cure" you of allergies, and you're young so i think it would be worth it for you. Additionally there are options of nasal steroids and/or antihistamines ; singulair (montelukast). ...Read more
