In 9 hrs I'm getting tested for thyroid levels and cholesterol at my doctor. I've already been fasting for an hour. Is it ok to take loratadine?
I have what appears to be an enlarged thyroid. I've been taking Claritin (loratadine) for months; just doubled testosterone to 800 - could either affect thyroid?
Thyroid Cyst: I doubt this. But, given the prevalence of thyroid cancers and other neck abnormalities I would advise you not to leave this alone, but to get to the doctor and have this examined and tested as appropriate. ...Read more

Forehead headache, neck stiffness, dizziness, brain fog, and chills. Tried Claritin and tylenol, (acetaminophen) didn't work. What could be causing these symptoms?
Yes, but: Claritin (loratadine) is effective for hives (urticaria) but it may take more than an hour to see the good effects. There is no harm in taking Benadryl (diphenhydramine) but realize that this antihistamine can cause drowsiness. Some allergists will use higher than usual doses of Claritin for control of hives. ...Read more

Potential issues: If this was Claritin (loratadine) d-12 hour (designed to be taken every 12 hours), there should be minimal side effects. If it was Claritin (loratadine) d24 hour, then the adverse effects of the "d" Pseudoephedrine could lead to insomnia, GI upset, decreased appetite, dry mouth, etc. It's not the Claritin (loratadine) that is the problem, but the decongestant. ...Read more

No unique reaction: Unlikely that most medications will react differently in ms patients. However, Cipro (ciprofloxacin) may make things worse, but not fully understood. One must be prudent in using any med that can affect the immune system to avoid adverse immune interactions. But Claritin is fine as are many other allergy meds, as this involves histamine. ...Read more

Yes: Overuse of Pseudoephedrine (the d in claritan d) can cause rebound vasodilation and increase the amount of mucous your nose pours out. Using a product long term with Pseudoephedrine can make matters worse. Shouldn't use them more that a week or two at most. Can continue the plain claritan, but may need to wean off the pseudoephedrine. Ask doc about a nasal steroid in place of it. ...Read more
I take generic Claritin d (loratadine 10mg + pseudoephedrine 280 mg). Would 6 be enough to overdose?
I took Xyzal (levocetirizine) 14 hours ago. It wasn't working so I took a Claritin D 12-hour. Is this dangerous?
I take 10mg of adderall 2x day. I just took a Claritin (loratadine) D not realizing they may interact. Should I be worried?
Should be okay...: Claritin (loratadine) D with adderall may cause increased heart rate. If you have no heart conditions then you'll probably be fine. Watch for a racing heart, feeling faint, chest pain or sweating, if any of these occur you may need to seek medical attention. If you do have a history of heart problems then don't repeat this combo without talking to your cardiologist. ...Read more
After taking 2 days of Claritin (loratadine) d 24 hour then stopping how long can I expect the side effect to last. It stimulated my anxiety.
About 24 hours: Decongestants like the 'D' in this version of Claritin (loratadine) can have side effects like restlessness, increased heart rate and blood pressure. It's an extended release formula which helps it last 24 hrs. After that 24hrs, the last bit of the D to be released should be pretty much out of your system within another 24hrs. If having prolonged or worrisome symptoms, seek medical care. ...Read more
