At what weight can a kid take the 10mg dose of loratadine? Bottle says "age 6" but my kids small. What weight?
Well tolerated: I wouldn't worry much about the dose level. This medication has one of the safest profiles of any of the over the counter medications. The suggested dose for 2-5 is 5mg and a dissolving tablet is available in some local.Adult studies found no increased benefit or side effects with a double dose of 20 mg. So having a smallish 6 yo take the 10 would be fine. ...Read more

Other options are available if Benadryl (diphenhydramine) doesn't work. Sedation and dry mouth are common side effects. Consider saline spray and environmental changes. ...Read more
