Tylenol (acetaminophen): If you are an adult an ingestion of over 7 grams (7000 mg) carries significant risk of toxicity. Please be seen at your nearest emergency room. You need medical assessment now. If you were taking an intentional over-dose then psychiatric evaluation & help is also critical.

OK, but tone it down: You can take 1000mg every 4-6 hours for a limited time, but if your symptoms are persisting despite the dose you took, stop taking anymore and you need to seek medical attention and get evaluated for your issues. Best wishes.

Mgt: I would recommend seeing your physician or the ED. Does she have any symptoms currently? When did the ingestion occur? I would also suggest calling poison control.

Tylenol (acetaminophen) over dose: If you are a healthy person no medical problem and not on any other medication and no alcohol abuse problem, it should be a ok, just do not take anymore tylenol (acetaminophen) for another 24 hrs. A normal person with normal liver should be able tolerate 4 gm/day of Tylenol (acetaminophen).

Taking Tylenol regularity but never more than the recommended dose for last few weeks. Social drinker. I'm worried about l have liver damage. Symptoms?

See your doctor.: Initially, there are no symptoms to the kind of damage that Tylenol can do to the liver. Although you are likely to have not done any damage to the liver if you followed the directions, it would be prudent to get some blood drawn to be sure. It is a simple blood test. If you are worried, I would try to limit Tylenol and avoid alcohol until you have the blood test. Good luck.

Got a pill from a friend I recently got a pill from a friend. He told me it was like tylenol or advil. It is red on one half and blue on the other, with a white stripe separating the colours in the middle. It is a capsule shape. I have taken one with no

A: A number of things should be noted from your questions. First - it is generally not a good practice to take medication, whether "over-the-counter" or prescription, from someone else. Even well intentioned friends may not know important details of your medical history that may make it unwise or dangerous to use certain medications. Second - "tylenol" is a brand name for acetaminophen, and "advil" is a brand name for ibuprofen. Although both of these medications can be used for fever or pain reduction, they are different types of medication. Whether either of them is safe or correct for you to use could only be determined based on your medical background: important facts would include medications you may take for chronic conditions, and any history of allergies or intolerance of other medications. Third - there are many online "pill identifier" websites now; but the medication you are referring to may not be referenced since it is an over-the-counter product. Better to consult with your physician about what medications are right for you, and take only medication that you can verify by it's source bottle or package.

I've never taken tylenol. Is it pretty safe. What is the likely good of me being allergic? Ty

It's probably rare: Doctors don't have a crystal ball to look into the future, which means a doctor cannot predict whether or not a person will have some rare reaction. That's the way life is. However, in 25 years of practice, I have yet to meet a patient who is allergic to plain Tylenol containing only acetaminophen.

Is it okay to take vimovo and tylenol #1?

Is it okay to take vimovo and tylenol #1?

Sounds ok: If a person had no prior problem with taking Vimovo (esomeprazole and naproxen) by itself, or either of its ingredients by themselves; and had no problem taking Tylenol #1 (acetaminophen and codeine) by itself, or either of its ingredients by themselves; then she should be ok taking Vimovo and Tylenol #1 together. They may cause stomach symptoms. Be sure to follow one's doctor's instructions.
