Remicade (infliximab) infusion: reactions. You may want to discuss with your doctor his/her logic of not giving pre medications for possible infusion reactions. Some doctors wouldn't, so as not to mask initial signs of a more severe reaction that might ensue, at times simple reactions can be dealt with using antihistamines. Yes: If you feel you still need it, but don't exceed recommended daily dose for diphenhydramine from all sources (300 mg /day), depends on the reaction too was it a local or whole body reaction? keep taking the benadryl for the next 24 -48 hours every 4-6 hours as needed 25- 50 mg , don't drive, and take the medicines prescribed at ER, if it was a whole body reaction, see an allergist, take care ...Read more

Usually I have : My patients stay on their current meds with the exception of aspirin, coumadin, (warfarin) fish oil and vit e. But don't take your meds just before starting the prep as you will flush them out and thus will be ineffective. It concerns me that you'd come to us, physicians who are strangers to you, about possible rejection while you're under the care of a transplant team. See below.: Flonase is usually taken once per day, unless your doctor prescribing it has told you otherwise. Also, both Xyzal (levocetirizine) and Zyrtec are long-acting antihistamines, also usually taken only once per day.
