How is her diet?: U r absolutely right about the new controversy regarding calcium supplements and cardiac risk, but it does not say anything about calcium in diet/foods. So, consuming calcium rich foods will reduce need to take supplement. Also, vitamin use can improve absorption of calcium. Yes you may: Yes you may. Calcium absorption tends to plateau when a single dose exceeds 500-600 mg. Even though the two together would exceed this number, you may be fine because one is slow release.
