Citalopram For Fibromyalgia
I take celexa (citalopram) 4 fibromyalgia, can u tell me if this helps with more fibro symptoms than just pain? Fatigue, anxiety, fibro fog. Ect? Plz
Maybe: Ssris may help with more than just pain in patients with fibromyalgia, namely, fatigue, anxiety. In fact, they may be more helpful for those symptoms than pain. On the other hand, snris (effexor, cymbalta) and tca (tricyclics - nortriptylin, amitriptylin etc.) do better than ssris alleviating the pain associated with fb.See 1 more doctor answer

Not clear question: The way you wrote your "question" it is not clear what you were taking, how long you were taking it, what dose you were on, what you were withdrawing from etc. Please ask a specific question and provide clear details.See 1 more doctor answer
Just started celexa (citalopram) 10mg coz of chronic fatigue, muscle pain- fibromylgia. Anxiety increased, feeling high and low. Correct diagnosis?
It is correct Dx: Celexa (citalopram) should be prescribed at an initial dose of 20 mg/day which can gradually be increased weekly by 20/mg/day to a maximum of 60 mg/day. The antidepressants, such as the Celexa (citalopram) are currently being used in the treatment of anxiety particularly, chronic fatigue and Fibromyalgia.

Depends: I assume you are meaning to alternate days so you are effectively taking less of the med equivalent to about 15mg. It depends on what your effective dose is. You might dip below a therapeutic dose and have symptoms return. If the reduction is due to side effects, consider a switch to Lexapro (escitalopram) which is more potent and side effects may be less.
Communication: Did you discuss this with your prescriber?
Celexa (citalopram): Side effects of Celexa (citalopram) include erectile dysfunction, decrease in sex drive & ejaculation issues. Other common side effects are insomnia, sweating, shakiness, drowsiness & dry mouth. Loose bowel movement, abdominal pain, vomiting, nausea, loss of appetite & heartburn can also occur, as well as anxiety, fatigue, fever & muscle pain.
Midol and Celexa (citalopram): Interactions between drugs are always possible, but it unlikely to encounter a serious adverse interaction with this combination, specially if the individual has normal liver and kidney function and no predisposition or risk factor to GI bleeding. The combination of Citalopram with the formulation of Midol that contains NSAIDS could potentially increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding.
Thanks for asking!: Citalopram is fda officially aproved antidepressant/antianxiety medication which has scientifically researched profile. Maca powde is food supliment which has a mood stimulating effect (not for every one!) and I did not see scientific studies with double blind method which would confirm antidepressant effect, a top of if your doctor prescribed to you citaloprom do not substitute it by yourself.
