On 10mg of celexa (citalopram). Would 5mg have less side effects? Or the same? Neasous. Lightheaded. See black dots from right eye. Dots didn't start until celexa (citalopram)
Perhaps but: I would recommend that you consult your doctor to find an alternate drug. Even if you have only 1/2 of the side effects from reducing the dose, these side effects are potentially serious. ...Read more

Eye irritation: I do not think either of those medicines could cause eye irritation. But what do you mean by that? Is the eye red, does it itch? This time of year, if both eyes are bothered, seasonal allergies would be a likely cause of this symptom. ...Read more

Intrusive thoughts: Intrusive ruminative thoughts can be very painful and distressing. I am sorry you have been struggling. I am unsure what dose of citalopram you took but often ocd can require higher doses. Also it can take up to 12 weeks to see the effect. Always discuss dosing with the prescribing phsyician and remember cbt for ocd is extremely helpful alone or in combination with medications. ...Read more
Cold turkey off 40mg citalopram 3rd day, flu like feeling, fuzzy head and severely being sick? Really not feeling well at all
Stopped citalopram: Did you stop your medication at the instruction of a physician? It's best to talk to your doc, even if you don't want to continue a medication, and plan for a taper and medical supervision, rather than stopping abruptly on your own. The symptoms you're describing are commonly associated with abrupt discontinuation of an SSRI. A taper would avoid them. ...Read more

Your? Is unclear: Celexa (citalopram) shows no evidence of being effective in schizoaffective or bipolar disorder. No antidepressant is approved for either of these conditions on its own. Having said that, I am going to say antidepressant medication is frequently used in these conditions, sometimes successfully, but often not. Given the amount of time that people with these conditions spend in depression, it is not surprising people are often given antidepressants in the hope that they may be one of those lucky people who will respond beneficially to their effects. ...Read more
I have chronic pain throughout my body and feel foggy all the time. Can adding Abilify (aripiprazole) to my celexa 40 mg a day help clear my head and help with pain?
I'm on 20 mg of celexa (citalopram) a day for 2 years now and I heard it can mess up your heart. I haven't had any problems with it so far but does it mean I could?
Probably OK.: It used to be that 60 mg/day was considered the maximum dose of celexa, (citalopram) but a few years ago the fda lowered it to 40 mg due to reports of sudden death due to a condition called prolonged qt syndrome. The details of this condition are too much to explain here, but 20 mg is probably safe. Ask your doctor for an ekg if you would like more assurance, as it will show if you have the condition. ...Read more

Possibilities: First of all check with your neurologist. There is usually some toxin, pathogen or allergen associated with a weird head sensation like your pulsating. Rule out any blood vessel as the cause of the head pulsating. Finally, rule out any infection at the occiput as the cause of either the pulsatiing or the cause of the anxiety. ...Read more
