I have a red raised rash from a recent tick bite, could this be lyme?

Southern tick associated rash illness has a similar rash but its smaller and commonly on the trunk. You can also get a bacterial superinfection of a tick bite. My baby has a red raised rash and dry skin on his back but no where else. We haven't changed detergents or bath wash. What could it be?

What did he lay on?: If this is localized to an area so well defined, you would want to look into what surfaces he laid on within the preceding 12-18 hrs before the rash. A baby will sweat some & may dissolve fabric softener, cleaning products or other agents were left in any concentration on a surface. Some babies will react to a wool blanket that way, etc. I can think of no illness or food item that would produce this. ...Read more

I have a blotchy red raised rash that is very itchy on my right breast?

Should see doc: Many types of rash present in this way. If completely new, then my initial thoughts would be hives vs fungal infection vs contact allergy. Taking a short acting Benadryl (diphenhydramine) (antihistamine) may improve the itching, which would be indicative of hives. These would be most likely to persist (come and go) for 3-10 days. If so, then begin a longer acting med like cetirizine. OTC antifungal if scaling rash ...Read more

After 1 beer or glass of wine, I get an itchy, red, raised rash covering my entire left hip and thig?

Sounds like hives: It sounds like you are having urticaria (hives) and I agree that it is probably an allergy to a preservative in the beer and wine- possibly sulfites. When it happens you can try taking an over-the-counter antihistamine like benedryl or zyrtec (cetirizine). Also consider seeing an allergist for allergy testing. Unfortunately it may be difficult to find beer or wine that is completely sulfite-free. ...Read more

I have a bruise on upper thigh with itchy raised rash its a white rash not red. Any ideas to what it could be?

See dermatologist: While my first thought is that this is a variety of lichen planus, you need to see a dermatologist for two reasons: first is to ascertain the correct diagnosis. Second: lichen planus may be associated with a number of underlying problems, including toxicity from medicines that you are taking and hepatitis C. If this is, in fact, lichen planus, it is likely to clear with topical cortisone. ...Read more

Four yr old girl has a red raised rash covering 75% of her body once a month since infancy accompanied with a low grade fever any ideas?

Interesting: Red raised sounds like hives...And why monthly? Do not know. The low grade fever may be from the rash itself.... Do a diet chart and see if there is something that stands out...You will have to do it for a month. Consider allergy testing and seeing a chinese medicine practitioner...And immunologist as well. Hard to tell without seeing the rash what it really is. There are some cyclic disorders. ...Read more
