Should see doc: Many types of rash present in this way. If completely new, then my initial thoughts would be hives vs fungal infection vs contact allergy. Taking a short acting Benadryl (diphenhydramine) (antihistamine) may improve the itching, which would be indicative of hives. These would be most likely to persist (come and go) for 3-10 days. Sounds like hives: It sounds like you are having urticaria (hives) and I agree that it is probably an allergy to a preservative in the beer and wine- possibly sulfites. When it happens you can try taking an over-the-counter antihistamine like benedryl or zyrtec (cetirizine). Also consider seeing an allergist for allergy testing.
