Which eye antibiotic drop is better? I know each one has it's own class, but generally which is stronger polymyxin & Trimethoprim or Cipro (ciprofloxacin)?

All depends which: bug or bacteria you are trying to kill. That is the more important question. Otherwise you are building resistance to SUPER BUGS, and when you need to use a 'strong' antibiotic, it just won't work anymore. In that case, it becomes a weak antibiotic. Ask your doctor what you are treating to find out the bacteria in question. Then, answer it that way! Hope this helps! ...Read more

Are the any creams that have Triamcinolone Acetonide BP 1 mg
Econazole Nitrate BP 10 mg
Gentamicin Sulphate BP 1 mg

Don't think so: Haven't heard of that combination cream. However, individual creams can be prescribed if needed, and a patient can use a little bit from each tube of cream, to treat a particular rash if her doctor feels that such medications are the proper treatment of that rash. Usually, there is more than one type of cream able to treat a rash, which means that alternatives should also be available in the US. ...Read more

Ciprofloxacin Hydrochloride Ophthalmic Solution, 0.3 as base was prescribed to my 10 year old this summer for ear infection (possible swimmers ear). Why are there so many contradictory responses regarding this medicine. I know it depends on the type of ea

Do not use it.: This class of medications is not approved for pediatric patients if safer antibiotics are available. A single oral dose of the fluoroqunalones may disable. Prescribing an ophthalmic preparation for otic (ear) purposes is inappropriate. The best treatment for swimmers ear is acidifying the ear canal to kill off the yeast and restore normal flora, like Domeboro solution, which is OTC. ...Read more

I am having sore throat and running nose, so i went to pharmacist and he gave ciprofloxacin hydrochloride 500mg, is it the right treatment?

No: Sounds like you have a viral illness, and this will not be treated with a broad spectrum antibiotic. This is why pharmacists should not be dispensing meds without a doctor's orders. Would treat your symptoms with otc meds, gargle with saline, take acetaminophen. You will be better in a week with Ciprofloxacin and in 7 days without it. ...Read more

Is it possible to use ciprofloxacin ophthalmic solution to treat an eye stye?

Warm compresses: A "stye, " a.K.A. Hordeolum, is a plugged oil gland in the eyelid, sort of like a pimple. Most of the time, it can be effectively treated with warm compresses.
