Only works if...: Ciprodex can only work for an ear infection if it is an outer ear infection (in the ear canal), if your eardrum perforated, or if you have ear tubes in. Otherwise the topical drops can't penetrate into the area of the infection if it's in the middle ear. Even with those things, you may need an oral antibiotic as well.
