Yes.: Yes: just be certain to take your Cipro (ciprofloxacin) as rx'd with just water - fluoroquinolones need to be taken only with water, and not within 2 hours of food/supplements/minerals (especially Zn++/Mg++/Ca++/Fe++). ...Read more

Okay to take: Cipro (ciprofloxacin) can be taken with or without food. But it should not be taken with dairy products (like milk or yogurt) or calcium-fortified juices alone. It should be taken twice a day about 10 to 12 hours apart, unless you are instructed by your doctor to take it differently. ...Read more

Prostatitis : If no allergy, you doctor may try to prescribe penicillin derived antibiotics, like cephalosporins, but in general these drug showed very poor prostate penetration. Cipro (ciprofloxacin) or levaquin pretty good as long as bacteria shows susceptibility to it on culture results. Sulfa drugs can also try. You need to take antibiotics for minimum 4 weeks though to eradicate the infection in prostate. ...Read more

No: Cinobac belongs to the quinolones family of drugs, same as cipro (ciprofloxacin). Generally when you're allergic to one drug in the family, you may be allergic to the other drugs in that family since they're often molecularly similar.
