Is pipe tobacco safer than cigarettes?

Is pipe tobacco safer than cigarettes?

Yes: I respect you, i respect truth, and i know that you want to stop using all tobacco. This being said, if you cannot quit smoking cigs, and medication and a good stop-smoking program did not help, you are far less likely to ruin your health (lung cancer, emphysema) smoking a pipe. Smokeless tobacco is addictive like pipe and cigs but the cancer rate is far less (but still real). Please do try 2 quit. ...Read more

Depends: Any form of smoking may produce benzene derivatives, which are cacerogens. However, there are studies which estimate that cannabis smokers have less incidence of lung cancer than both cigarette smokers and non-smokers. My advice would be not to smoke, period. If you use cannabis as a legal treatment, there are other formulations available besides smoking; sativex, marinol, etc. ...Read more

Are electronic cigarettes safer than regular cigarettes?

Are electronic cigarettes safer than regular cigarettes?

Probably - Addictive: Yes, they are promoted as safer because of lack of many oxidation byproducts produced by burning tobacco ; this is true. They supply nicotine to keep the addition going but the industry has not performed any clinical trials to evaluate the pros ; cons. Thus the conclusion, through presumably reasonable, is presumptive, not tested, without known reliability ; largely exempted by dshea act 1994. ...Read more

E-cigs vs. Regular cigarettes, which is better?

E-cigs vs. Regular cigarettes, which is better?

Hard to say: To me it's like saying 'should i shoot myself in the head with a 22 pistol or a 45?' i wouldn't recommend either, but statistically the 22 is less likely to kill you and cause brain damage. Nobody really knows the long-term health impact of e-cigs, because it hasn't been studied. It contains propylene glycol, oils, flavorings and additives, in addition to nicotine, and we don't really know effects. ...Read more

Are electronic ciggerettes safer than tobacco?

Are electronic ciggerettes safer than tobacco?

Probably: But they are far from "safe." they have simply not be studied for long-term effects. The amount of "tars, " the organic compounds in smoke that primarily cause cancer, is certainly less, but the impact of the propellant, propylene glycol, the flavorings and other additives, as well as the oil itself, is not known. They may lure younger people in, cause nicotine dependency, and lead to smoking. ...Read more
