Usually not: Post strep glomerulonephritis should not leave scars visible by ultrasound. Kidney biopsy may show some scarring but this would only be seen on biopsy. Some unfortunate cases of post strep glomerulonephritis do not have a full recovery and loss of renal function may be permanent. This will be seen on laboratory testing (creatinine). ...Read more
