For 3 days I've had very thick yellow goo when I cough. Chest congestion and at night way way too much spit. Never had this before no other symptoms.
See your doctor: It's always a tough call whether or not someone needs antibiotics based on symptoms alone. Even though the mucous is yellow, it doesn't necessarily mean there's a bacterial infection. A doctor needs to take a look at your vitals, sinuses, listen to your lungs, possibly check your oxygenation and /or a chest x ray to determine the best treatment for you.See 2 more doctor answers

While running my mouth gets thick saliva that I have to spit. I can still breathe fine. Why is this?
Stay Hydrated: This is a common problem for any endurance athlete. Your body is constantly sweating to regulate body temperature and the fluid in your mouth is evaporating too. Your saliva is part mucus and part water, so your saliva is left feeling thick and stringy. My advice would be to stay hydrated and maintain your electrolytes before, after and even during the run if possible.See 3 more doctor answers
