Chronic Pain Under Right Rib Cage
What organ is under the bottom edge of the rib cage on the left side of the body? Pain from a knot under the bottom edge of the rib cage on the left side of my body. Once the knot goes away so does the pain. Getting worse. I am also a chronic pain patient
Consider Colon Spasm: Organs associated with left side of body beneath anterior rib cage are colon and spleen. A "knot" could be somatic (muscle) dysfunction related to visceral (organ) disturbance. If persistent, get abdominal x-ray, us, and/or ct scan. If intermittent, consider colon pain due to gas or spasm. In this case, use high dose of good quality acidophilus, along with bulk laxative (psyllim). Take separately. ...Read more

I got a hida scan of my gallbladder done which reported anef of 12%. The abd ultrasound reported no gallstones. Is the chronic burping and pressure (poking) under my right rib cage caused by the ef?
Probably yes: A normal gallbladder ejection fraction on a hida scan should be more than 40%. At 12%, this means that you have a dyskinesia of your gallbladder which can give the type of symptoms you are reporting. You should consult your doctor and discuss the possibility of surgically removing your gallbladder, even if there are no gallstones, especially if all other tests are normal. Good luck. ...Read more
