Actually low risk: Being a carrier confers little risk of liver failure/cirrhosis/cancer, but chronic, active hepb has a higher risk. Since you did not hve luck with therapy, the best you can do is nuture your liver--avoid/minimize alcohol/drugs, get vaccinated for hepa, eat a healthy, balanced diet along with maintaining ideal body wt (obesity increases risk), and follow-up with doc regularly. Not clearly known: It is quite unpredictable what leads the virus to do most of the damage to the liver. So best one can do is avoid any other hepato-toxins like alcohol use . Aslo eat healthy and avoid fatty liver which accompanies over eating and execessive weight.
