I have a belch reflux disorder. I cant burp, I have pain and bloating every time I eat unless I gag myself. Do you know of any treatments?

Gastroenterologist: Don't force yourself to burp as this only causes more gas buildup. Drinking hot (not too hot) water breaks down gas and enables you to pass it rectally. Eating several smaller meals daily is better than large meals. Avoid oily foods. Taking simethicone after meals helps prevent gas buildup. Rx side effects: These are not unusual side effects of proton pump inhibitors. How were you diagnosed with H. pylori? Stool antigen or EGD in presence of an ulcer. The nexium is part of the therapy (approx. 14 days) for H. pylori. It would be reasonable to take yourself off of it for a few days or take a 1/2 dose. Contact your doctor re: time course necessary vs. Optional. Longer tx typically used if ulcer. ...Read more
