Chronic Adrenal Exhaustion
What do you suggest if my son has all the symptoms of adrenal exhaustion. what can he take for it to help him feel better?
Symptoms in medicine: Hi. "Adrenal fatigue" is not a real entity - no such thing. Here's a very well time tested and proven philosophy of medicine: there is no symptom specific to any single disease, and no disease specific to any single symptom. Whatever symptoms your son has may be due to a disease, or associated with no disease. But at least stick to the realm of real conditions. Good luck to him! ...Read more
Exhaustion: The simple answer is yes. Why have you been taking cortisone long-term? Were you ill at the beginning and feel much better over time? The adrenal is probably not working well enough such that you must continue with cortisone. If you have not seen an endocrinologist about this you should do so sometime soon. ...Read more
I'm just wondering, if you have adrenal exhaustion from coffee, will stopping drinking it rectify the problem?
No: Adrenal fatigue is a real problem and there is a large population of patients who have this problem. Caffeine stopping may help but caffeine is not the main problem. See http://www.Adrenalfatigue.Org/ and the book adrenal fatigue by dr. James wilson. See my comments for more information. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
No such thing: Hi. That is a ridiculous, anti-scientific self diagnosis with absolutely NO validity. Take any herbs you want as long as they do no harm...you're treating nothing with nothing, and the snake oil salesperson who sold that BS to you is laughing all the way to the bank! That nonsense is for the worried well who obsess about nonexistent health concerns. Good luck! ...Read more
Be careful: If a fringe practitioner has told you that you have "adrenal exhaustion" (this is now a fad diagnosis based on saliva testing which is actually just a screen), get with an evidence-based practitioner before accepting the diagnosis. Your fatigue may have a physical or emotional cause instead. ...Read more
Causing hypoadrenal: The adrenal cortex makes Hydrocortisone under the influence of acth from the pituitary. Too much cortisone will suppress the pituitary so it will not stimulate the adrenal to produce its own steroid.
