Eval needed: At 17, you may not have chondomalasia, but other pain conditions around the knee. X rays and a hands on eval by orthopedics or physical medicine doc is needed for correct diagnosis, and treatment plan. Chondromalacia: Avoid kneeling, crawling and squatting. Limit squats and lounges in the gym. Avoid repetitively exercising the knee in flexion beyond 90 degrees bent.
