Wondering why: In the usa, we are pressured by a dysfunctional tort system to discuss and treat cholesterol level aggressively. I suspect half the guys ur age who you know have a cholesterol level around here. I'm glad you're exercising. If your physician isn't planning to start you on medication, i wouldn't either; if he/she is, think of getting a second opinion. Keep exercising. Total chol 180 mg/dl, correct? ...Read more

Misinformed?: Eating cholesterol does not raise your body's cholesterol. This was a myth we all grew up with but has repeatedly been debunked. Cholesterol becomes fats and proteins in the stomach. May not be an issue!: I don't know how high & subtypes.Half the people with serous coronary artery disease (CAD) have totally normal cholesterol while many with high cholesterol never develop heart disease! the real cause of CAD is inflammation, but if you have inflammation then high cholesterol increases risk.
