How can I get 4 negative chlamydia tests 2 different Dr/Labs before and during pregnancy and 2 positive after birth with no sex of any kind between?

How can I get 4 negative chlamydia tests 2 different Dr/Labs before and during pregnancy and 2 positive after birth with no sex of any kind between?

Doesn't make sense: It's worth showing the actual lab tests to a doctor who can interpret everything-- a second opinion. Chlamydia is sexually transmitted so it doesn't make any sense here. I wonder if you had false negative tests initially either due to 'sampling error' or tests that weren't that accurate. The CDC recommends nucleic acid amplification tests (NAATs) as the most sensitive. See an ID doc if you can. ...Read more

Single testicular pain and urethra pain after sex. Not chlamydia. Urine tests come out clear. Pain goes on and off for 2 months now. What could it be?

Not STD: No STD is a likely cause of this combination of symptoms, urine findings, and test results. I would guess it's psychological. Check with your doctor if the symptoms continue or you remain concerned. However, I am confident you have nothing that will ever harm you or any current or future sex partners. Best wishes-- HHH, MD ...Read more

Does chlamydia show in tests as soon as you become in contact with bacteria?

Does chlamydia show in tests as soon as you become in contact with bacteria?

Tough question!: The test for chlamydia is simple. Most people can have the test carried out on a urine sample. Some people have a swab test (a small cotton bud). The swab is used to gently wipe the area where you might have chlamydia, to collect some cells. The cells are then tested for infection. The incubation period here is 1-3 weeks..Some (i dare say many) people never have symptoms though. ...Read more

Pain in urethra. Waiting on chlamydia and gonorrhea tests, while taking doxycycline. But now noticing purplish bumps just inside tip of penis. Normal?

Pain in urethra. Waiting on chlamydia and gonorrhea tests, while taking doxycycline. But now noticing purplish bumps just inside tip of penis. Normal?

Get examined: "Purplish bumps" may not be abnormal, maybe just blood vessels, looking more prominent because of inflammation from gonorrhea or chlamydia. But genital herpes or warts might be possible as well. Presumably you saw a doctor, right? If not (e.g. if you arranged your own testing through a lab or on line), of if your doctor didn't examine you closely, return to the office right away. Good luck! ...Read more
