How long to get gc and chlamydia test results?

How long to get gc and chlamydia test results?

Varies: Both tests are usually done by dna analysis and the test can be completed in one day. However the lab may not run the test every day. So it depends on how long it takes the specimen to get to the lab, how often the lab runs the test, and how long it takes your doctor to get in touch with you. Ideally, you should know the day after you provide the sample. ...Read more

What does a low positive chlamydia test result mean?

"low" positive?: I've never heard that test reported as "low". It's either positive or negative. If it's positive, you'll need treatment for chlamydia and so will your partner. ...Read more

Is it possible for other infections to show as chlamydia on test results for a male, who has not been sexually active for a lengthy period of time?

I got negative chlamydia urine test result. My last urine was passed just 20 minutes before giving urine for test. Conclusive? 2 hours wait needed?

Test is reliable: The manufacturer of the most common chlamydia tests recommend waiting 1-2 hour since previous urination, but probably it isn't necessary. Despite the official recommendation, clinical experience suggests it doesn't make a difference. In my STD clinic, we pay no attention to time since last voiding. That said, no test is perfect, and the urine test misses about 10% of chlamydial infections. ...Read more

Until : Until you see the doctor you can try some over the counter hemorrhoid medication. There are many products in your local pharmacy dedicated to hemorrhoid treatment. These include creams that you apply to the rectum, medicated pads that can be placed over the anus, and rectal suppositories that can be inserted into the rectum. I recommend one of the first two choices until you can see the doctor. Also increase your fiber and water intake. Take care. ...Read more

I did an at-home chlamydia test and the result was VERY faint as in barely there, is there a chance that I am not infected?

I did an at-home chlamydia test and the result was VERY faint as in barely there, is there a chance that I am not infected?

Unreliable test: All rapid chlamydia tests are highly unreliable, including self-tests for use at home. (Because they are unreliable, no such tests are available or routinely used in some countries, such as the US.) With a "very faint" positive result, your test likely is false. However, if you are at risk for STDs (e.g. non-monogamous, new partner, etc), you should be professionally tested. Good luck! ...Read more
