Chlamydia Ig G Positive
Recently I had anti chlamydia IgG positive and IgM negative. How is that so as I have never tested for STD before and hence never had any treatment?
Unreliable test: Chlamydia blood tests are not very reliable. Your result suggests possible past infection but none at present. Some positive tests are due not to chlamydia, but past infection with chlamydia-like bacteria that cause bronchitis. If you are being evaluated for infertility, your doctor might treat you with an anti-chlamydia antibiotic. Otherwise, probably nothing need be done. Discuss with doctor.
Chlamydia is a curable sexually transmitted infection that is caused by the bacteria chlamydia trachomatis. This bacteria infects mucous membranes of the urethra, vagina, cervix, anus, rectum, eyelid, and throat. Chlamydia may be asymptomatic but some patients experience pain or burning during urination, nausea, fever, vaginal discharge, ...Read more
Hi, I am confused. My chlamydia test show IgG positive but IgM negative. My partner is oposit, he is IgG negative but IgM positive! Do I have chronic chlamydia and gave it to him? Or he just get new infection and I didn't get it from him by some wonder?! P
Be careful: Interpret these tests with caution. Chlamydia (I'm assuming C trachomatis) can live within epithelial cells and thus masks itself from the immune system. If you were never treated, then I would suspect chronic carriage or reservoir state. Your husbands IgM indicates new antibody response and is consistent with recent contraction, possibly from you. Also maybe past exposure for you and unrelatedSee 1 more doctor answer
Hello I just received the result of my test and it says that I have chlamydia igg negative and igm positive. I have no other partner but my husb?
June last year I was tested negative for chlamydia (PCR). 2 weeks ago I got IgG positive, IgM negative. Does that mean I was infected in the meantime?
Chlamydia antibody: Your blood test results are consistent with your past chlamydial infection. However, the blood test only detects antibody (the immune response to infection), not chlamydia itself. Once positive, the IgG blood test is positive for many years, often for life. To know if you currently have chlamydia, you'll need another PCR-type test from the vagina or a urine specimen.
Hello doctor, assume, a man has lgv and test only c.Trachomatis IgG or c.Trachomatis pcr, should result come positive for chlamydia?
Got tested 4 chlamydia in feb, IgM positive. Took doxycycline for 10 day & got re tested again. Igm & IgG neg but IgG was0.546. Do I need 2 see doc?
My friend test std, results. Chlamydia trachomatis positive, abnormal andnon reactive negative. Hsv 2 igG. 2.69. HSV 1 igG. 37.90. the me?
What's the question?: You don't ask a question -- I'm not sure what information you're looking for. These HSV test results are positive for both HSV1 and HSV2. However, when the HSV1 IgG antibody test is very strongly positive and the HSV2 result is much lower, as in your friend, the HSV2 result sometimes is false. Additional testing, preferably with a Western blot test, can sort it out.See 1 more doctor answer
I was positive with Chlamydia, I took treatment doxycycline twice. Now I'm IgM negative but IgG positive. Could that cause problems getting pregnant?
Treated: This means that you had the disease in the past, not currently. Unless the chlamydia went untreated for a long time, thus causing inflammation and scarring, you should not have problems getting pregnant. You should be checked by an OB/GYN for permanent complications of chlamydia.See 1 more doctor answer
Any lab; talk to doc: These tests are available through just about any lab in the US. But speak with your doctor first. The chlamydia blood test is useless for diagnosing current infection. Although sometimes used in evaluating female infertility, for current infection you need a urine or vaginal swab test. Also be wary about HSV (herpes) blood testing except with doctor's advice. Confusing results are common.
I did a chlamydia test. Not sure what it means or the severity of the result. The result for the chlamydia IgG is 1.38 and the chlamydia IgM is 1.39?
Unreliable test: Chlamydia blood tests are unreliable. It shows only that you have been infected sometime in your life with chlamydia, or with a related but different bacteria called Chlamydophila. The only reliable test for current infection is for chlamydial DNA on urine or urethral swab. However, the positive IgM result suggest possible recent chlamydia infection. Ask your doctor about treatment.
Chlamydia trachomatis igg and igm both negative. Should I do any other test or I'm safe!?? Thank you
Depends: How long after the potential exposure were the tests done? If you tested too soon, it may not be meaningful. If you wish to get a definitive diagnosis, you should get a nucleic acid test for chlamydia. Get tested for gonorrhea at the same time. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex.
Blood test result on chlamydia trachomatis IgG is 0.9 (grey zone 0.85-1.1). What is additional test to find out whether I have chlamydia on n?
NAAT: I can't think of any reason to order a chlamydia igg. What you need to know whether you have chlamydia is a chlamydia naat, taken from urine, a cervical swab, throat swab, or rectal swab, depending on where your symptoms are.
Urethritis, chlamydia igg neg, azhithro, Doxy, Metro Oflox no relief. Then moxifloxacin severe techycardia high BP some relief in two day. Wht nex?
See ID specialist?: With the cardiac effect from moxifloxacin, you need to get an EKG to check for prolonged QT interval. There is likely another drug which covers the same organism without affecting the heart and thus an infectious disease specialist may be needed. Have you had an urine culture and antibiotic sensitivity study done?
I had blood test for Chlamydia. Result says IgG Ab >/= 1:16 and IgM Ab < 1:16. Does it mean that I had it in the past but not currently?
Maybe past infection: The chlamydia blood tests are pretty much useless. This only indicates you have had infection sometime in your life with chlamydia, or with related non-STD bacteria. (For example, Chlamydophila pneumoniae causes bronchitis etc, is very common, and also give pos result on the blood test.) It's a useless test to diagnose current infection. If at risk, you need a vaginal swab or urine test.
Can LGV Chlamydia be detected by the Quest lab antibody test that checks for L2 igM igA igG for C. Trachamatis. Is this accur. For LGV at 5 months.?
Accurate, but why?: Lymphogranuloma venereum (LGV) is caused primarily by a particular type of chlamydia, called L2. The Quest test is very accurate; a negative result 5 months after exposure or possible symptoms is strong evidence against LGV. But why be tested? Symptoms? Partner w/ possible LGV? In the US, LGV occurs almost entirely in gay men; there have been few or no cases in women for the past half century.
Does strong and weak immune system and antibodies can show a different result for the HSV 1&2 and chlamydia? Girl (+) hsv2 IgG & chlmdia igg, boy (-)
Limited usefulness: Just because someone has antibodies doesn't make them contagious or even mean that they have lesions. Antibodies stay around after recovery. And if the lovers are using barrier protection, he probably won't catch her herpes simplex even if she does have infectious lesions.
Is a blood test after 14 weeks of sexual encounter enough to give conclusive results on stds especially herpes 1 and 2? Had the igg tests done for herpes. Was negative for HIV, hep a, b, c, chlamydia, gonnorhea, herpes 1 & 2 and syphilis. Thanks
"low" positive?: I've never heard that test reported as "low". It's either positive or negative. If it's positive, you'll need treatment for chlamydia and so will your partner.
Yes: All tests have both false positives (meaning you don't really have it) and false negatives (meaning you really do have it). Chlamydia testing is very accurate but yes a false test is possible. You can always requests a retest and the test can be done through a different lab for confirmation.See 2 more doctor answers
