I have always had the chirping sounds in my ears, but now one ear has developed more of a low roaring sound. It is very annoying at night?

If it's accompanied by hearing loss, dizziness, headache, passing out etc. Perhaps exposure to loud or soft. Constant noise at your workplace or noise may have contributed to your condition. Something in canal: There might be something in your ear canal. An insect, loose wax might be possible. Have your doctor take a look inside using an otoscope. Most importantly don't put anything smaller than your elbow in your ear canal. You could end up irritating the skin in your ear canal or puncturing your ear drum. ...Read more
Be careful: You can clean the outsides of your ears with soap and water. Be careful not to put anything (q-tips, bobby pins, pens, fingernails) into your ear canals- you can do serious harm. So long as your eardrum is intact, you can use mineral oil to keep the wax accumulation down in the canal.
