Doctor insights on:
Chiropractors are licensed professionals who practice a form of alternative medicine in treating patients with health problems relating to the body's muscular, nervous, and skeletal systems. They usually focus on manipulating and adjusting the spine to treat health problems.
Induce labor? No.: No, chiropractors do not induce labor. Chiropractors are not allowed to prescribe, dispense, or administer medications as this falls outside of their primary training. It is possible that some claim to have special "chiropractic techniques" for inducing labor without drugs, but more likely they just do helpful massage, plus movements and positioning of a woman's back, hips, and legs. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Massage: Chiropractors provide a deep massage, which is occasionally satisfying but is not curative. It can sometimes be dangerous especially with the neck. Kiddies cannot make such a choice. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Health Hooey: Imho this is medical quackery at it's worst. Although some chiropractics claim to be pediatric specialists, neurologists, evidenced based medicine does not bear this out. Bony manipulation also doesn't cure allergies, autism or adhd. There is clinicial evidence that chiropractic medicine can be useful in the treatment of adult low back pain. There is some controversy w docs who care for adults. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I have been seeing a chiropractor for 3 weeks, but the pain has only gotten worse. What should I do?
Don't go back: If pain is still getting worse, get evaluation& perhaps some imaging done by an md or do. You may have some underlying condition that needs to be addressed. Also, for manual therapies to work, you need good nutrition (lots of veggies, fruits, very few refined carbs (sugar, flour) and no ingredients on a label you can't identify). If you are ok, try a different chiro or better yet, a osteopath. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
