Probably: Lightly bumping your tooth with wedding ring unlikely to cause much damage. Seen it chip an edge of tooth. However, due to your age , you probably have numerous wear and damages including craze lines in the enamel. The light reflecting thru the tooth may make these obvious. However, I'd like to add that if the temp crown was recently placed while you're waiting for a permanent crown, the black coloration can be from bacteria getting through the temp crown. It's a result of not having a good seal with the temp crown and usually not a cavity.
