Usually not first: Tuberculosis, or tb, usually will come with other symptoms, such as chronic fever, lung issues like chronic cough, and weight loss. You can have bone pain also, but there is usually an exposure history as well as a series of other symptoms that make you think of tb. If those are there, or there is reason for you to suspect tb, then you should have your dad evaluated immediately.See 2 more doctor answers

Could my leg pain be a symptom of my chronic Lyme? My bone feels like it will snap in one spot w/ pressure on it. I also used to be on depo provera (medroxyprogesterone)
Thoughts: Your pain does not seem consistent with either chronic Lyme (although chronic Lyme has several non-specific possible presenting symptoms) nor Depo use. However, it sounds pretty extreme and you need a physical exam and some tests to rule out some bone problems that may be more common in young women.
