Lump under chin: First, unless you have been diagnosed with one previously, a thyroglossal duct cyst is rare and something that has likely been searched out on the internet. Second a pimple, carbuncle, or furuncle can cause tender lumps under the chin which may be either a swollen lymph node or an actual cellulitis or abscess of the anterior neck space. Possibly...: This could still represent slightly swollen but small lymph nodes (shotty lymph nodes) due to localized or systemic inflammatory conditions such as infections. It may be difficult for you to actually isolate and feel lymph nodes under the skin, but your doctor should be able to. Generally, shotty lymph nodes are not of concern, but do see your doctor if you have unexpected weight loss or fever. ...Read more
